  1. I am currently finishing up my pre-req's for admission into either a Diploma or Assoc program in Central Virginia. I do currently hold a bachelor's degree in another area and have just learned that I could possibly get a Bachelor's in Nursing as quickly as either the diploma or Assoc. What's best? What are hospitals looking for in new hires? My main goal is to get working as quickly as possible as I have one child getting ready to start college in August and another on her heels starting the following year. It would be a lot more expensive to go for the Bachelor's degree but if that would help my chances of getting hired - it may be worth it. So what do you think?
  2. Sarakaut, Thanks again for the information. I did email my advisor and you are so right. Unfortunately I was at a information session in the summer and that was NOT discussed. I guess I'm just so surprised because they aren't even offering those course this semester so in order to have them for the Spring I will have to take both 231 and 232 this summer (two 5 week courses)....not what I wanted to do. Oh well. Thanks again!
  3. Thanks for the info regarding summers. I will have all of my pre and co-req's by the time I apply for Spring 2012 but hadn't heard anything about changing BIO's - there is nothing posted on the website and they currently don't offer the BIO 231/232 combo. So does this mean that if we've already gotten BIO 141/142 they will not accept it at all? I'm assuming you heard this through a information session??
  4. I am a current student at JTCC and have a quick question for someone already in the nursing program. I think I will have everything I need to apply for a Spring 2012 admission and am wondering once you start the program is it 4 semesters from start to finish? Do they have nursing classes available during the summer semester? Or is it only Spring/Fall classes? Thanks for the input!
