  1. I'm struggling with this choice right now. I am interested in pursuing an NP career, but the choices are so limited in Canada. I graduated with a BScN in 1998, and have been ER nursing since. I applied to Athabasca, but unfortunately my GPA is well under 3.0. They won't consider me, so I took one of their courses as a non-program student. I then find out, that even that won't get me any closer to being accepted. They don't seem to care about my 12 years of ER nursing experience. I'm thinking of applying to Phoenix for the Masters, as it sounds like I would likely get it. I like the Asynchronous learning as well, because I work full-time. Any tips/suggestions around UoP?
  2. I am struggling with this right now. I graduated from my BScN in 1998, and am trying to get into the Nurse Practioner program, which is now a combined Masters. My GPA in school was low at 2.4, Athabasca won't consider me, DESPITE my 12 years of Emergency/Trauma Nursing. I've taken 2 of their Masters Courses as a non-program student, done well and they still say that I'm not eligible. Really frustrating, as my GPA was from over 10 years ago.. and I have significant experience.. I'm no dummy. Wondering about University of Phoenix or something to bump up my grades.
  3. I'm a BScN, RN working and living in Canada. I have never practiced in the USA. I would like to persue the Nurse Practioner field, and am wondering if it is possible to get my education online from an American school?
