How to reenter medical field?
Three years ago I completed a medical assistant program and externed in several medical practices where the doctors and staff were awful and unethical and it scared me away from the medical field. For the last two years, I've been working in a fast food restaurant and I want to reenter the medical field. I want to get a job as a medical receptionist or medical assistant and go back to college for nursing. Do you think I could get hired even though I have been out of the medical field for three years? I know I'll need some medical experience to be accepted into the nursing program. I REALLY want to become a pediatric nurse and cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. Can anyone offer any advice for me? Thank you so much for your help! :)

Can I become a nurse if I'm not great at math?
In the future, I hope to be a nurse but right now I'm finishing a nine month medical assistant program. The math is fairly easy because there's no algebra. One of my instructors is a doctor and he said I better become great at math otherwise there's no chance of me ever becoming a nurse. I'm great at anatomy/physiology, science, and anything not involving math. Whenver I'm being taught math, I just can't understand it no matter how many times people teach me. This makes me feel very sad because all my life, all I've ever wanted was to become a nurse but the reality is that if I don't become proficient then it will never happen. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Senior in high school, dreaming to be a nurse!
Thanks for all your replies! I spoke to a cardiologist who works at one of the major hospitals and he said there is a huge shortage of nurses and aides so there's always work available. Plus, I have browsed many hospitals and nursing homes and they're all hiring too, thank goodness!

Senior in high school, dreaming to be a nurse!
Hello everyone! Right now, I am a senior in high school and after I graduate, I want to do nursing. My family is too "rich" for financial assistance but too poor to pay for a university. The college of southern nevada has a CNA course and my mother is willing to pay for my course since it's not too expensive. I dream of being a pediatric nurse:D but I'm going to have to settle for now until I can afford to pay the tuition. I also thought being a CNA would give me good experience and insight on how the medical field works. Does this sound like a good idea or not? All replies are appreciated.:)
