  1. Hi!! I got accepted into the University of South Alabama PNP-AC BSN-DNP program for Spring 2017. Was wondering if anyone else here got in???
  2. Hey! Did any of you find out the prices of the different custom textbook packages? :)
  3. Can you PM me too? Thanks! Can't wait 'til next Thursday! :)
  4. Yes, I did. And I know! Super weird...
  5. I was actually just thinking the same thing. On the same site that they told us to go to get our background check done there is also an Immunization Tracking thing...I have had (I think) all of those immunizations done when I was little, but there are a bunch of spaces to input info about titer shots and all kinds of stuff like that. I was just really confused...do we have to fill in every space?
  6. Come in the main entrance to FIU off of 8th st. When you come in, go to the first stop sign and hang a left. Park in the first parking lot you come to (if it allows guests...I'm not sure), it will be on your left. The building is the architecture building, it is right across the street from the parking lot...it is a big white building, room 135 will be on the opposite side. I had a class in that same room last semester :) Hope that helps!!!
  7. Yeah, it is just as long as you order it. She said in her email, "It is required that you order Pkg. #1 by Monday, June 7, 2013." Hope that helps! :)
  8. Yeah, I think you just had to order it by that time, so if you just fax the thing in before June 7th I am sure you will be fine :) And I have not gotten my acceptance letter in the mail...have you already taken classes at FIU? Because I remember when I first started there I had to pay a $200 deposit...you think that is it? Gah, I don't want to pay it twice!
  9. Deposit fee? What deposit fee? I did the background check already, and I (amazingly) got the results back really fast :)
  10. I haven't gotten it yet...is it the same as the email?
  11. So did I (on Thursday), but I know of at least one person who did not receive any email...even though they applied to the program.
  12. Quick question...are FIU nursing students allowed to apply for the Baptist scholarship?
  13. Um, my GPA was a 4.0 (which was so God, not me!)...
  14. Wait...with a 3.9 GPA you got denied? Maybe you should inquire about a reason! I don't see how that could happen... Congrats to everyone who got in! Can't wait to meet you all in the Fall (or at orientation!)!
  15. OMIGOSH! They sent the email!!!!! I'm in!!!!! :)
  16. WHAT?! so soon?!?!?!?! Ahhh!!!! And you're sure? Wow, I'm so nervous!
  17. If you are an FIU student, do you still have to drop off a transcript? I didn't think so, but I just want to make sure... Ah! So excited!!!!!!:)
  18. Quick question...is the 150 hours needed have to be combined, or just with one place? Because I have a lot of volunteer hours at the hospital, but I am not sure if it is over 150, but combined with other volunteering over the years it is over. Thanks!!!!
  19. Ah!!!! So happy that someone posted a thread on this!!! Lol, I have been debating for weeks whether I should create one But yes, I applied (finally!) for Fall of 2013. I'm so excited!!!!! I hope they don't delay the decision any longer...good luck to you guys!!!!:)
  20. Hi LoveBuggy!!!! Ohmigosh, I know that this is totally unrelated to the thread, lol, but I am SO happy to hear from someone else who applied!!!! Do you know when we will find out if we got in?!?! So excited!!!!!
  21. Hi! I just applied to FIU's nursing program and am now waiting to hear if I got in :) I heard that the average GPA for last year's class was 3.70 with the overall science GPA being 3.742. But one of my friends told me that a 3.3 got in (I think). Volunteer hours definitely help, so if it is at all possible for you to get a volunteering position at a hospital, do it! Also, I know that being in the Honors College at FIU helps, along with taking your prerequisites at FIU. Anyways, I know that this may sound daunting, but I would definitely apply if you can, it doesn't hurt and it is a great school :) And go talk to an advisor! They are great and really helpful :) I hope this helps!
  22. I have been looking everywhere but I can't find a schedule for the generic RN program at BC. Do you guys know how long it is supposed to last? And do you have summers off?
  23. Thank you so much for your response! I am strongly considering either BC or FIU for Nursing school so any information is very appreciated. Right now I am going into my senior year and hopefully by the time I graduate I will have all of my prerequisites done, so then I can enter right into nursing school (hopefully!). When you went through BC's program, was there time enough to have a job? And one more question, how long did the program take you? Thank you so much! :)
  24. awesome! thank you so much for that information...it is extremely helpful. wow, so only three of you got the scholarship? if you don't mind me asking (you can pm me if you would rather), what do you think made you stand out from the others who applied for the scholarship? like, did you volunteer or have great gpa? also, how was your experience at bc overall? those odds of getting through the program are kind of daunting! what class was probably the hardest? my choices right now are: 1. fiu 2. bc 3. fau 40 nova (this would have been my first choice but they give no scholarships!) so i am basically torn any info from those going/gone through the program is a huge help! thanks again!!!!
  25. thanks! i am planning on volunteering at memorial this summer (a nursing professor told me that volunteering at a hospital sometimes help for getting into a college...true or not i have no idea, i would love to find out though!) so maybe that will help my chances of getting the scholarship... i have heard about the hiring freeze, it's terrible. i would want to get that scholarship for the job after graduation... but before even trying for the scholarship i would have to get into nursing school...i heard it's really hard. what school do/did you go to cf08? sorry for all the questions, it's just that i am kind of lost!
