  1. Oh sorry! I work at an extended care facility and we don't have vents there.
  2. Hello! What is the highest amount of o2 you can put a patient on with a tracheostomy? I'm assuming you would only use the mask used specifically for trachs- but what is the limit?
  3. Hi everyone! I work in a home for young patients with severe developmental disabilities. Most are tube fed, but a few eat and all of them have epilepsy. Anyway, the other night one that eats PO had a seizure during dinner time. Luckily she didn't choke but it got me thinking- what would I do if she did started choking while seizing? Is it possible and safe to perform the heimlich on a patient during a seizure?
  4. Hi everyone! This is my first post so let me introduce myself. I'm a new LPN- well, I've been one for a year but just started working about 6 months ago. I'm also going to school for my RN. Anyhow, I'm currently working with medically fragile young adults. Sometimes I just feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. I mean, I know what I'm doing but I'm scared of the unknown- I'm scared that something will happen on my shift and I won't have any idea what to do. I'm just not fully comfortable or confident I guess. Have any of you all gone through this? Any tips? I know in time and with more skills it will get nervous...but I just get so scared!
