Im active duty doing NECP so I will automatically going to NTP after graduation in August. Im still waiting on word for FY 14 NTP info. Last email I got said they have tentative dates but they haven't been blessed. Anyone else heard anything?

Im active duty in a different program (NECP) but also waiting on the FY14 NTP dates. Anyone heard anything yet? Last I heard was they have tentative dates but they haven't been "blessed" yet. We automatically go to NTP so Im not on a waiting list.. just cant get my orders without NTP date...

Hello!! I will also be attending Wayland Baptist this Fall. I am active duty Air Force and this will be a change of careers for me too!! I used to live in San Antonio, so Im not going to be new to the area. Cant wait to get back there because its close to home for me. See you this fall!

Congrats!! I really wish I could attend UMHB. I am active duty AF and our program wont allow us to go there because its too expensive...I tried everything though!! But AF said no.. But best of luck in the program. I understand its one of the best!!

Oh okay! Well that is good to know. from what they sent out to us, they wont give us update on open seats until Mid May.. so at least thats one seat that will potentially open up!

I guess everyone accepted their offers! :cry:

@Veronica, did you do NECP? I am also air force and applied for NECP. But I also applied at WAyland too. They have me needing 5 classes, but I got them to agree to let me take two of them (the old testament and new testament) during the break in the fall. So if all else fails, I have wayland. They said for those in the AF, they would try to let us know something by the 20th.. so maybe by wednesday or thursday we might have some good news!

I think we should start hearing something by the 25th. From what I understand the first batch of accepted have to accept/decline their seats by tomorrow.. Lets all pray for the best!!

@Nicole, did you ever get a letter in the mail stating you were an alternate. I got the one via email, but apparently they tried to send me the real letter and it got sent back to them. So I had they called me today to get an updated address..

Yes, thats very helpful to know! I really hope that enough people reject UTHSCSA so we can get in!!

Still keeping my head up. Have Wayland Baptist as an option, but not too sure I want to take those two religion classes as that computer competency class.. Just starting this thread for anyone that applied for UTHSCSA Fall 2011 and got waitlisted. We could use this forum to help support each other!! I hope that all of us get offered slots for this fall, here or somewhere else!!! Post your updates here!

Don't know how many but I know of at least 4 others. I'm sure there are plenty more. The 25th cant come soon enough!

On second thought.. They just opened up another nursing school campus in Round Rock, and I might try to see if I can work it out up there! My family is from Killeen, so that is right up the street and would be perfect!

I have, but I think on their website, it said your sciences had to be within 5 yrs. I took my AP and Chemistry over 5 yrs ago, and I dont plan on retaking those any time soon! Or atleast I didnt have time to retake them prior to applying.

I know most schools have already closed thier application periods for the fall, but does anyone know of any schools that have a later deadline for applications, like lets say May? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I am active duty military and I wanted to apply for our NECP program. This program would pay for my nursing school for two years. This is my first year applying for school and I sort of put all my eggs in two baskets.. The first basket, UTHSCSA didnt work out for me. I recently found out I was waitlisted/put on the alternate list. Thats pretty hurtful and it feels like a rejection. But from what I understand its not a complete loss because I didnt get totally rejected. I pretty much dont have a shot at getting into the NECP program without a conditional letter of acceptance from a school. (I have to talk to Wayland Baptist this week) So that being said, has anyone in this forum ever been put on a waitlist for UTHSCSA and eventually got in? If how long did it take for you to find out or get offered a seat? Does being waitlisted pretty much mean I need to just put my energy into reapplying next year? Any advice, would be helpful, not matter if it will not be the best news!! Thanks everyone..

@Mkat, I understand what you are saying...I guess I'm still not sure what they are looking for. I had a 3.6GPA and 79.8 TEAS (Not the best). I don't have a BS degree, but hI do have two associates. One in kinesiology and the other I'm environmental science, which is my job in the military. I have taken Calculus, and a lot if of other science course at a University. I know there is still a chance...but we will see! Congrats to everyone.

I guess Im joining the alternate list crowd too.. Im so hurt, but figured my TEAS score would do me in.. I had the GPA though.. I dont know what this means. does this pretty much mean we might as well try again next year?

good deduction!! lol.. if that is the case, it will be the next day (saturday) before I see an email unless I stay up really late. I am 7 hours ahead of central time zone. I just need to know one way or the other so I can stop having nightmares! I am still scared about my TEAS Score, but hopefully it wont hurt that bad.. Best of luck everyone!

When I had a question about one of my classes I talked to Mr. Ashburn (when he was still there), and he just had me send him the class description via email.

I dont even know.. its so back and forth, I just wish they would give us a FIRM date! I do hope that they will start notifying via email by this Friday. I have a deadline to submit my package for the Air Force to pay my tuition.
