i got my acceptance today too!!!!! i saw my holds status change yesterday, but i hadn't actually checked utlink for a while, so i'm not sure how long it actually was until the holds changed to acceptance. good luck to everyone who are still waiting!!

@nurseguy86: did you apply to UTMB?? i applied there, too. i'm not quite sure how UTMB is compared to houston though.

i doubt there will be interviews...

just out of curiosity, is anyone planning on working while in nursing school?? i want to work so i can pay off rent, but then i get the feeling that i will need that time for studying and whatnot.

when i called a few minutes ago, i was told "the admissions committee is still in the process of reviewing the applications, and if they need an applicant for an interview, they will be contacted by email or mail." i wonder if an interview is like a tie-breaker or something...

@chaos0058: i applied to a couple of the same schools u did too. i'm sure we'll receive good news somewhere! i chose houston for its reputation and location too. i dont understand how they're going to choose the students according to gpa and hesi scores only...

i applied to a few other schools too, and yeahhh that money does all add up (((( i hope i get into houston tho. where else did u apply??

@bananamtz: i'm not sure if CNA training is required at uthscsa, but i know it is at texas a&m nursing school. sooo i kind of assumed it was the same for all the other nursing schools. i was going to take CNA training whether it was necessary or not just for experience too. where r the CNA training programs that u know of?

@rocket surgery: thnx for the CNA info! i think interview letters should be going out this coming week or so, according to what the admissions lady is saying. can't wait!!

@bananamtz: i took the TEAS already too and have to forward the results IF uthscsa tells me to. i hope i get the invite!!! just wondering, is there anyone else who still needs to get CPR certification and take CNA training classes? i still have to do those....

@rocket surgery: thnx so much for putting the info about CPR training! i need to do that ASAP. does anyone know where i can take CNA training classes? i still have to do that too.....

@ mac031: i called admissions this morning and they said they are doing interviews. i talked to this lady named joann (spelling?) and she told me about this. i dont know either why admissions is giving everyone a different answer. she also told me that admissions decisions will be out by april 15th. so at least we know when the latest is for expecting our admissions decisions!

@ CyclicalEvents-- thanks soooo much for helping us out. u have no idea how helpful ur info is. do u work during the school year? and if u dont mind my asking, how much does it cost per year w/ tuition and rent? i have a feeling i'm going to take out loans to pay for school and stuff...:uhoh21: and maybe work..

you and i have very similar hesi scores! i remember i got a 93-something and an 800 on the critical thinking. i was so worried about my critical thinking score because everybody else seemed to get above 800

Would you say that working as a CNA during school is advisable? I don't want to be in a tremendous amount of debt after nursing school so I want to work at least a little bit, but I'm not sure what jobs are recommended.

hello~i'm new to this forum but i've been following the past threads. i have also applied to the traditional bsn at houston. i called a bsn counselor at houston and she said they are still doing interviews and will send out interview letters in the beginning of february. so i'm not sure where everyone is getting the info about not having interviews. let's keep each other posted! :)
