  1. Well I just found out today that Im pregnant, and Im supposed to be starting LPN school May 2. Will I still be able to go to clinicals and go through the program? Has anybody else gone thru LPN school pregnant? Please help I want to finish school
  2. Jeez!!Its been a journey. I was trying to get into the RN program in 07-08 when i finished hs but didnt get accepted. So i took a yr off wandering around, and finally applied to this tech school. They gave me a hard time, had to take two exams all the physicals and background checks...but it all payed off thankfully
  3. I have been accepted into the LPN program at Sheridan Tech! I start may 2,2011!! So excited!
  4.*Takes a deep breathe* Thank you....
  5. I wish I would have gotten accepted into the damn program when I applied the first ******* time. I was denied and didnt have a back up plan and spent two ******* years sitting around not doing anything. Now that Ive decided to go back to school I have to do LPN and then transition back into the RN upon complete that. So double nursing school for me yay! (sarcastic voice) Dont get me wrong im greatful and excited that Im going to LPN nursing school and my school life is back on track , and that one day I will FINALLY be an RN. Im just angry that I wasn't accepted at the school I was going to, If i was i would have been a graduate by now. I just want to be done, I want a career, I want to take my life to the next level. I just needed to vent....
  6. Thank you so much i will be sure to do all of these things =]
  7. I start nursing school (LPN) in a few months....is their anything you guys can give me a heads up on? Like most important things to study, what to expect, things to look out for or pay close attention too? Good study tips ect..Thanks in advance
  8. I know LPN's don't really get to specialize. Im going to LPN school in May and when I complete it im going straight into RN, so I probably won't even work as an LPN... I was asking the question in reference to when I became an RN not LPN..Thanks ladies =]
  9. I would have prefered to go straight through to RN but when I applied my application was denied...so decided to go the long way instead of sitting here and waiting.
  10. I am starting nursing school this May (LPN) and I will ultimately transition for my RN. My goal upon graduation is to specialize in L&D, the nursery, NICU, anything pregnancy and baby related. I look around every know and then to see what the job market is like for this type of nursing and I always see that the hospitals require a year sometimes 2 years of exp for consideration! And the qualifications for NICU are even greater. My question is why is it like this? Are new grads able to get specialized nursing jobs? Another question how can they ask for previous exp in L&D if you have never been given the opportunity to work on that floor to gain this REQUIRED exp!?! All replies welcome. Thanks in advance =]
  11. Well my name is Sunny and I'm working on becoming a nurse. A year ago I was attending my local community college and doing my pre req;s for nursing. I DID NOT GET ACCEPTED and it was really tough to deal with. I didn't have a back up plan and I was angry, angry that I spent almost two years in school, busting my butt for nothing. I said to Hell with nursing, and spent a whole year out of school doing nothing =[...In October I decided I would go back to school and continue on my journey to become an RN. I signed up at my local tech school for LPN, and when I complete that I will be going back to my local community college for my RN. My LPN program begins in May...and I must say im very excited! I can't wait to get in and get out! Is there anybody else here that is going to do LPN and then transition to RN?
  12. Well, I had a C in AP1 and a C in Chem....and DID NOT GET IN...I say try anyway you never know.
