I'm a new grad moving to Raleigh, NC. Although I've been offered several jobs locally (Central Illinois), I can't seem to get an interview anywhere near Raleigh. I've tried hospitals, LTC, everywhere I can possibly think of. Does anyone from the Raleigh area know of any Home Health Agencies around the area that will hire new grads? I was always under the impression that they wouldn't hire new grads because of inexperience. I am beginning to get extremely depressed and am not sure what to do. I desperately need a job. I'd appreciate any advice.

I applied to Duke, Wake Med and Rex. I did see that I was in the running at Wake Med, but NEVER got even a call. My hopes were trashed after that. I'm a little bit older too and I was hoping that didn't have anything to do with it. I'm just concerned I won't be able to find a job and it seems that nobody wants to hire new grads. Maybe I should stay in Illinois. I got two job offers here :-(.

I am a recent BSN grad and sucessfully passed NCLEX! My husband and I are moving to Raleigh, NC from Illinois within the next month. As soon as my Illinois license # is posted, I am going to apply for an endorsement in North Carolina and a temporary license. I have submitted numerous applications to the new grad programs in Raleigh and can't seem to even get a telephone call. I have a high GPA, but that doesn't seem to be doing me any good in securing a job. I am desperate and don't want to be unemployed any longer. I am willing to work in a long term care facility, doctors office, school nurse...whatever. I just don't have any contacts in Raleigh. Does anyone have any recommendations? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am becoming increasingly frustrated. Thanks so much!
