  1. thanks,i feel quite relieved already! Everyone I meet think I'm in my early twenties and unless i'm asked they never know I'm this young.
  2. Hi everyone, I'm new here but have been checking allnurses for info since I started to look for a CNA training program. I'd like to work in the medical field in a few years to come and thought that working as a CNA would be a great way for me to get valuable experience in the health care field. I enjoyed working with the residents during my 4day internship at a nursing home before I completed my CNA training and on the other hand I feel CNA's are doing a GREAT job,I mean the residents REALLY need their help.It made me sad at first but now it has fueled in me a thirst to help as much as I am capable.I finished my CNA training a week ago and will soon take the state board exams. But a question I'd like to ask is that I'll be turning 18 in 4months time, would any nursing home want to hire me after I get my certification? Would they feel I am not matured enough? If not should I volunteer at a nursing home first and then apply for a position there? I'm hoping to get a job in a Nursing home working weekends while I go to school. I live in New York city too so can anyone please give me some advice. Thanks
