  1. Hi, I am starting the GW FNP program this Fall and live in Baltimore, MD. I am excited to start the program but am a little nervous about having to locate my own preceptors, especially with the large amount of NP students from UMD and Hopkins in Baltimore. Does anyone know students who have graduated that could tell us about their experience finding FNP preceptors? Thanks :)
  2. Out of curiosity, has anyone heard any word of a second interview after receiving the e-mail on the 8th? I sent a follow up email last week and still haven't heard back. Any help would be appreciated :) Also, for former interviewers-- how long did it take to get 'set up' with a unit interview after being notified that you were selected from pipeline applicants? Thanks for helping calm my nerves!!
  3. Congrats to you!! I also received the same e-mail saying I made the cut... but yes, i agree that it was not very detailed and 'leaves you hanging' I am wondering if I am supposed to contact the recruiter, since it said that there is not a set timeline for a second interview. Hopefully we will hear soon :) Very exciting!
  4. MNCSN-- I think that we will find out in mid-February whether or not we were selected for an interview. I looked at the thread from last year, and it looks like some people first got an e-mail around Feb. 10th. Keep in mind, the application deadline might have been different last year, so it could be a little later this year. Hopefully they give you a time frame let you pick a day, considering that we all have different clinical schedules (and I know that my school is very strict and will NOT allow you to miss a day of clinical for anything!) Hope this helps :)
  5. Found this on a Vandy nurse newsletter just in case anyone is curious... these were the numbers from summer 2010! 788 inquiries 571 applications 301 interviews 162 residents- 43 pediatrics, 30 adult medicine, 24 adult surgical, 65 adult critical care 28 states, 73 different nursing programs 81% BSN, 18% ASN/ADN, 1% MSN hope this settles some nerves... good luck to everyone!!!
  6. I am also from out of state and am applying to this! I was wondering if any of you from Nashville could give me some insight on how living in the city might be! Does anyone know of popular places for young people to live within commuting distance of Vanderbilt Hospital? Thanks!
