  1. Hi all. I recently got married and have been going through the piles of things to get my name changed on. I went on to the Texas Board of Nursing website and got the instructions on the FAQs page for going about doing this. No where on that FAQs page does it say it needs to be done in 10 days, however upon further investigation of my own I found a rule that states that it needs to be done in 10 days!! I didn't even have my marriage license in hand in 10 days. I was still on honeymoon and it hadn't even come in the mail yet. Yikes! So more than 10 days later, I am just now changing my name to my married name. I've been signing all nursing documents/charting/etc with my maiden name until my license changes, but now since it's been more than 10 days and I didn't know this bc it didn't state that on the FAQ's sheer I'm worried I'll face disciplinary action!! Anyone been in the same shoes, or similar? Just kind of worried that I just noticed the 10 day rule!!!
  2. Hello All! Brand new to the boards, so I'm sure this has been asked before but maybe someone can give a little insight for me. On January 12th, 2011 I will finish the RN program at my college. However, we don't officially walk the stage until February 13th, 2011 because we graduate all together in one big ceremony with the LVN students but they don't finish until a few weeks after us. With that being said, when can I start applying for GN jobs? It would make sense that I have to wait until I officially graduate on Feb 13th before I can be considered a GN, and that I just kind of have a month off for study for the NCLEX while we wait for the LVN's. Is this correct? And then basically I work as a GN from Feb 13th until I take and pass my nclex? If anyone can kinda help me with that or just make sure I've got the right idea I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance! :)
