  1. Hello! Congratulations to everyone that are in and good luck. I’m deciding on schools and want to hear ya’lls opinion so far on how it is going on communication with instructors/fin aid/ scholarships/program structure. TIA
  2. Are you referring to UCF or SSC orientation? The SSC will have a separate one plus boot camps. They don't require advance training :) But the UCF might *
  3. No, not yet. I haven't even received a confirmation that my MOA has been received. But I can't wait to receive instructions for initial steps so I can get started getting ready.
  4. Hi Amy! I am not sure exactly how and when the classes will be distributed but you can find a sample curriculum for the ASN nursing track on the nursing page on Sem State website. In addition to ASN classes concurrent program students will be taking an extra class or two at UCF (Alt. Springs campus and online). FAFSA should only be applied from one school which will be Sem State college, in our case. Looking forward to meet you too!
  5. Hm, let's see if you can find it by the link group number. It would be HTTP:// WWW DOT FACEBOOK DOT COM/GROUPS/217332711702509/
  6. Hm, it is strange that you can't find it... try looking in "pages" instead of "people". Otherwise it should be visible. I had my husband test it. Is there any way that you can put your emails on here so I can find you on FB that way and add to the group? For example mine is: yanalyonnais at gmail dot com
  7. Oops, I can't post a link here. Just type in SSC/UCF concurrent program Fall 2012.
  8. Here is the link: Log In | Facebook
  9. I have created a FB page for our class. If anyone is interested, you can request membership and take our discussions there. Anyone is welcome, of course, it doesn't have to be exclusevly fall 2012 students :)
  10. dawniepoo, thank you. Although I understand that each student is different and everyone handles school differently, an opinion of someone who is already in the program could be inspiring! Do you have clinicals on your first semester?
  11. I did the same thing,krod34! I called and requested a confirmation email but haven't heard back from them just yet. I will try again tomorrow. I want to make sure that this silly mistake does not happen after all the waiting and hard work. Please share with us whether you got your confirmation yet! dawniepoo, thank you for being so kind to share your experience with us. I heard that first semester is the hardest one because of all the new stuff you have to organize... Is that true? My main question is: do you have time for work? (At least 1 shift a week).
  12. I also got into concurrent program, so excited! Congrats to those who got in and good luck! Can't wait to meet you all!!!
  13. Emails from UCF said to be sent out between the 4th and 6th weeks from the application deadline. If everything is on time, we will be hearing from UCF no later than this Friday. I am not sure how Seminole State will be contacting us... or when... I can't wait to hear from them, now that I am not going to UCF basic program. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for acceptance. Hopefully we only have to wait till the end of this week. Good luck!
  14. I did not get in to UCF BSN track, now hoping to get in here. We should be hearing back soon!
  15. Congratulations to those who got in and good luck to you! I am not in this time, but keeping my hopes up for the concurrent program.
  16. Does anybody know whether applicants will be notified through mail or email?.. ...Because in the past week I have been frantically running back home from work to check my mail. I can imagine how anxious the rest of us are. Yes, fingers crossed! :)
  17. I thought they only accept 70 students each semester...
  18. Wow girls, you are good! all of you have pretty high scores. I have mentioned this earlier in the thread, but my GPA is only 3.5 because back when I started taking classes I didn't speak much English. For the same reason the TEAS score is 80. At least science GPA is 4.0 :) I worked hard to get there. Can't wait to hear back from UCF CON. Good luck
  19. Well, I am glad to hear that you have been able to find out why and be able to fix it! How long did it take for your APG forms to be reviewed and confirmed since the day you submitted them? Where did you obtain an "official course description" required to be submitted along with APG form? Also, did you take TEAS in an institution other than UCF? I am starting to worry a little about the course numbers... Thank you.
  20. I am sorry to hear this, I received an email like that tonight also, and I think I know why. I checked the numbers for pre-req courses and have one mismatch. Luckily I can use another course that matches instead. Have you checked on that? I think UCF would miss out on a student like you, such high numbers you have to offer!
  21. Thank you for taking your time and writing it out!
  22. Yeah, procrastination is our enemy... I purchased medical atlas of the human body to review the names of the bones, muscles, anatomical positions and other stuff. A friend of mine, who is a nurse, gave me a pharmacology book that she used throughout nursing school, so I am going to get on it also. I just wanted to hear others' opinions and advise... even if it's personal and only applies to you, share with us! :)
  23. This question is for nursing school students and nurses. Any recommendations or advise to those who got accepted into the nursing school on what to review, read, learn, do before the beginning of the classes? What would you do if you could go back in time? :) My background: 21 y/o pre-nursing student with an AA degree. Thanks in advance.
  24. I didn't clarify myself. I didn't mean that UCF students have higher priority. Normally if an applicant is an outside student it takes a little bit longer for them to transfer their credits and grades over to a different institution compared to an applicant applying from within. Higher GPA is always better, whether it is an outside applicant or a UCF student, I agree.
