What date are you planning on starting? Do you have a preferred agency? That is fine with me actually. Where are you right now?

I'm thinking of becoming a travel RN around Dec this year at California. If anybody is interested in going with me, send me a message pls. This would be my first doing travel RN and it would be nice since I can save more and so that I would not have to stare at the ceiling on my days off.
  3. Goodluck. Have you tried the PVT?
  4. Select All That Apply. :)
  5. Goodluck and congrats in advance. :yeah:
  6. Here's the book I that I used on NCLEX-RN 1. Saunder's NCLEX-RN Exam 4th Edition 2. La Charity Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment. 3. Kaplan NCLEX-RN Strategies Practice and Review. 4. Lippincott's NCLEX RN Alternate Format Questions 5. Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN Don't give up. You wouldn't be able to attain anything if you quit. We believe that you could do it. It is depressing but you could take a break from the studying for a week maybe to relax and all and when you're all relaxed you could start studying again. Stress is a big hindrance in studying so relax. Remember it's always dark before the sunrise. :)
  7. Goodluck Maggie, I did the same thing before I took my exam. I put the paper [in which I wrote my name with RN at the end of it] in a Bible. Goodluck! :)
  8. Maybe you could try the PVT? I think it also works for NCLEX-PN. Goodluck on your official results! :)
  9. That myth is not true. I had like 15 SATA's or more on my first try and I failed. I still had a lot of SATA's on my 2nd try and I passed. NCLEX is random. But I do suggest Lippincott's NCLEX-RN Alternate Format Questions- it helped me a lot with my SATA's. Goodluck!
  10. Hi chillceb, I also applied in a New Grad program in a hospital in our state. I was in for an interview and told me that they only accept applicants who graduated less than a year ago but they did told me that they could accept me as a Staff Nurse in one of their unit. I don't have a job yet because my license is in California and I'm from a different state. They did told me to forward them my license number once I could work in our state [when the board of nursing here released my temporary/permanent license] There's no harm in trying. I think you should still go for it. Goodluck!
  11. It's in Ca BRN site. Under license verification, I think. Or you could try the pvt. Goodluck!
  12. Goodluck. :)
  13. Have you tried the pvt? Goodluck. :)
  14. That's a normal feeling. The important thing is you'll pass NCLEX on your 2nd try and then you could walk in that hospital proud. Nothing wrong with being a n/a though. Either way you would be gaining experience. It might be hard to think positively right now but you could think of the positive things like still having a job or stuff like that. Goodluck. I'll be praying for your success.
  15. I think there are no test-taker who feels 100% confident that they are ready for NCLEX. Just do your best and goodluck. Pray, pray and pray.
  16. Thanks for posting those. I greatly appreciate it.

  18. Those are infection control mnemonics. For droplet, airborne and contact precautions. Those are really helpful mnemonics. Goodluck! By the way, those are included in the sticky thread called Random Fact Throwing. Aside from those tips, you could also see and learn a lot from that thread. :)
  19. I've been in your shoes before. I tend to slack off during my review days. My concentration limit is 1-2 hours and after that I get to be sort of tired so I usually tend to do other things. I felt like my study habits are not enough for me to pass nclex. So what I did was whenever I feel tired I take a break and rest my head for a few mins and get back to studying again. Just like you I am a bad test taker so in my 4-6hours of studying half of that of that is composed of practicing practice questions and the other half reading thru my notes and etc. May I suggest La Charity to you? It is a great help for prioritization and delegation. Also the random fact throwing here in allnurses is a HUGE, HUGE help. Better introduce yourself to SPIDERMAN, MRS.WEE, VCHIPS and My Chicken Hez TB. :) Goodluck

  22. I think there are very few people [very, very few] left the pearson vue center feeling confident that they passed the exam. Majority of test takers felt like they failed the exam, goodluck on your official results. I'll be praying for you. :)
