  1. I work on a very bust med/surg floor as a Nurse Tech ( which at my hospital its the same thing as a CNA).. So my boss is a VERY difficult person to deal with, She recently hired a new tech Steve (Ived changed names), That goes to her church, sunday school, and his a personal friend of her. Steve is probaly in his late 40's and about 10-15 years ago he was a paramedic and was in a bad wreck and had a small stroke from it and also some memory loss. Steve last week left a Patient in the same diaper all day,and didnt turn this patient all 12 hour shift, By the time I got to this patient she was literally drenched in urine and it was terrible. I told the house officer ( Floor supervisor was already gone) and he made a big note of this and passed it to my boss. Well Steve did not get a write up on this, my boss came and reminded me that steve has memory loss and he cant remember who is in diapers, etc. This REALLY got me mad. So long story short he didnt get in trouble for this, and it has happened more tht once since then, and now as of yesterday my boss has promoted him to being a paramedic on the floor, so he gets to help nurses with iv's,and I have to answer his call lights while he is doing this. But how could you leave patients soaked and not turned in 12 hours, because of your disability, BUT they are going to trust you to stick a needle in someone's arm. I cant go to H.R about this because all the people there know Steve and my boss (go to Church together) and it does no good. Let me know what you think about this. Thanks!
