  1. The personal narrative is how you sell yourself to that adcom. I compared it to a cover letter that tells the story of you and why you want to be a crna. why you choose that school? What are your goals? Why they should choose you, good traits about you. Various positions such as charge nurse and preceptor. What commitees have you been on. I believe that you should list the diffierent type of equipment you are experience with, on your resume maybe under responsibilities or duties for each job. GOOD LUCK
  2. I have experienced this as well, I have had some say why dont you just go to NP school, I usually reply with maybe I will consider that if this doesnt work. Yet deep in the back of mind to be a CRNA is my passion. Ive also had those that try to challenge my knowledge or give me a very sickly patient. I just keep my eyes on the prize! I sometimes think that some nurses are upset because they didnt do more with their career.( like go on to complete there BSN and take prerequisite to whatever MSN program). Thats why I think some are so bitter. However hard work and determination will pay off. I got accepted to two CRNA programs strarting this August. Keep your head up
  3. I worked for nightingale a few years back in san antonio, tx...I didnt have any problems
  4. Selu 11, I have a 3.4 gpa, I took the MAT and got 397, I have been a RN for 9 years and a LVN for 4 years. I have my CCRN and I took the graduate statistic class online at SELU. In addition, I work in a large CVICU. I have at least 6 years of ICU experience in MICU, NeuroICU, SICU and now CVICU. I would say try to get into a teaching facility ICU, if possible. That is where I gained my greatest knowledge base. Try to go a step beyond just being proficient with task but understanding the whys behind the certain drugs given and the disease process. Good luck in your endeavors!!
  5. Thanks Billy for your comment, anyone else?
  6. I posted this in the pre crna thread previously...maybe I will get a better respone here. I have been acceted to LSU:yeah: I am trying to get some insight from previous or current students about the program. What are some of the pros and cons? Do you feel you got a better learning experience with rotating to various clinical sites ?
  7. I agree as well take the job and concentrate on getting a solid background in hemodynamics. Understand the whys meds and treatment are done. good luck
  8. hello i am considering joining the air force to assist in paying my tuition. i start school this fall. do you have any insite on the airforce you would like to share
  9. sorry I wanted to say you do not take a paycut for receiving the stipend...you start at whatever the starting salary for a new grad is at that time
  10. Hey, I just had my interview today....it was very laid back...now I must wait..good luck to everyone. also r2410s it seems that you are offered what ever the starting salary is at the time of graduation at cleveland clinic. From what I understand it does appear you take a paycut just because you received the stipend.
  11. Hello I would say go for it..I just had an interview today there was no clinical questions just getting to know you. Just go for your GRE or you can do the MAT (it seems to be a lil easier). GOOD LUCK
