Hello, I just got accepted into the UCF nursing program (main campus) in April 2010 and just started my courses in August. I'm not trying to scare you but it is extremely competitive. From what I've been told, the senior class originally had over 800 applicants. For our junior class I'm not sure how many applied but probably well over 800. My GPA when I applied was 3.93 and is now a 3.95 after last semester. The average gpa for our class was 3.7. They look at two GPAs: your overall gpa and your prereqs especially anatomy and physiology. Each applicant must beat out 9 or 10 others. There are only 120 seats per year. You don't have to do any other extracurriculars such as nursing clubs. I didn't do any. All I did was study. As for this year's applicants you guys must take the TEAS test as well in order to get in. It consists of english, math, reading, and science. Sort of like another SAT. They only started that test this year. I had to take it but I only had to take it after I was accepted. Good luck with nursing and I hoped this helped.
