I am a new LPN, as it is so hard to find a job going on 7mths now I receive my license & have tried to apply almost every where possible in CT. I accepted a CNA positon as I need to pay the bills. I did 2 interviews the one for the CNA called me back the one for the LPN says they want to explore all their options before making a decision and that will take 2-3 wks as they got many many respond to the ad. Im keeping fingers cross as it would be the perfect job!! but what will I tell these people if I get this nursing Job? I pride myself in have strong work ethic but nursing is my passion and a CNA is not what I want be!! except for my clinical training I have no prior nursing experience. I would love anyone opinion on this I worked so hard for my LPN license & want to go back for my RN but is so disappointed!!!! I feel I will never get a nursing job I have so much to offer yet no one is willing to give me a chance!! really needs anyone opinion!!

I have worked at a methadone clinic for 5 years as a medical secretary i went on for my LPN as i was so impressed with the nurses and the wonderful jod they do!! Substance Abuse on a hold is a very difficult and time consuming field. I do believe that methadone helps tremendously if managed correctly I have seen it changed peoples' lives significantly but I dnt believe it works without counseling though people on methadone for herion addiction should also be in counseling as MM is not a quick fix and addiction is a mental illness. there is also the downside where as a opioid methadone can be deadly if not taken with precations as it interacts with other meds & illegal drugs this is where Physician & Nurses plays a very vital role in teaching and assessing patient to see if they are in withdrawals or sedated.. This is a very interesting field & a nurse can learn give so much working in this are..
