  1. 10 hour shifts are the way to go, in my opinion. I used to work 3 12s (sometimes in a row) on a neuro spine/neuro med surg floor and it was rough to say the least. On the floors, you are either an 8 hr person or a 12 hr person. A 12 hour shift almost always ended up being 13, 13.5 hour shifts if not longer. I worked days, and by the time I came home at 8:30pm I would eat and then sleep. Now, I work in endoscopy which has a variety of shifts. Now I get off at 5:30pm (and I don't have to report off). I can go home and make supper, relax or workout before going to bed. It is ideal for me personally.

  3. Wow this is depressing I've been an RN for two years and make 18.56/hour, started at 17.36/hour. I am in the midwest though in one of (I've heard) lowest paying cities in my state (IN.) Our ICU nurses make the same rate as us med surg nurses and we can get $1 extra an hour for charge.
  4. I took my test this morning at 8am and it stopped at 75 questions. I am getting the good pop up screen, but my question is will they still put results up on a Saturday? Keeping my fingers crossed!! :)
