  1. I didn't get in . But I'm ok with that. I still have 2 science classes in progress, and my prereq gpa is only 3.3 at the moment. I'm going back to my 4-year and finishing my BS in neuroscience (I'm on a hiatus at the moment). Then I'll try getting into an accelerated BSN program after graduating. I actually feel really good about my backup plan :). Good luck to those of you who will be in Flagstaff, Tucson, and Yuma this fall!
  2. Nope, not yet :\. But I live in California, so hopefully I'll be getting it tomorrow.
  3. Congrats! What class do you have in progress, and what was your health care experience? I haven't heard anything yet, but I live out of state. I'm hoping I get something in the mail tomorrow.
  4. I'm intruding on your Tucson thread again :) I just applied to the Flagstaff campus, but I'm already prepared for not getting in. My prereq. gpa is 3.3, and I have A&P 2 and Micro in progress. Hopefully I'll get something in the mail on Monday... My backup plan is going back to my old 4-year and finishing my bachelors degree. That'll open up doors for accelerated bsn programs for me in the future. I started at a 4-year right out of high school, but I went on a hiatus for a year while I took cc classes at home. Good luck to everyone else! Let's hope we all get some good news!
  5. The university keeps sending me spam. I keep hoping every envelope is from the nursing school
  6. Hey guys! Sorry to barge in on the TCU thread with this question, but Nwachineke - Do you know if NAU ever accepts people into their program despite having prerequisites in progress? I have A&P 2 and Micro in progress right now. I know NAU docks points for that, but I was wondering how much that affects NAU's decision (in your experience).
  7. What a coincidence! I'm currently waiting on an admission decision from NAU's Flagstaff nursing program, now that TCU isn't happening for me.
  8. I also applied to TCU in Fort Worth, TX. There were only 33 spots and over 200 applicants (so I heard). But, I got rejected. Now I'm really hoping that NAU works out... Nomad: I'm glad to hear that! And my 21st birthday is on the 27th, so my decision from NAU could make it either a very happy or a very sad birthday. haha
  9. I got rejected from the only other nursing school that I applied to this year. Now I'm really, really hoping that I'm admitted to NAU Flagstaff's program. Otherwise, I have no backup plan for next year while I try applying again :X Any word on when letters will be sent out?
  10. I didn't get in.
  11. [edit] yikes, duplicate post!
  12. If I don't get anything in the mail tomorrow, I'm calling their office.
  13. Nothing today either. This is getting annoying :\. California isn't -that- far!
  14. I'm surprised, andi! You seem like you have the perfect stats for admission. What kind of stuff did you put on that resume they asked for? I guess it really is a crap shoot...
  15. No letter for me again today. Living out of state sucks. It takes forever to get mail!
  16. What time do you usually get your mail, RBauer? Mine doesn't come until 12:30-1:00. I still have to wait a few hours before I can check...
  17. Omg, now I'm really nervous! My prereq gpa is 3.48 but my cumulative is 2.68. I originally entered college as a neuroscience major, but when the second halves of calculus and chemistry didn't go well for me, that wasn't happening anymore. lol. But there's no way I'm getting in if you were rejected, *nurse2be*. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't make it in I'll just have to wait and see if there's anything in my mailbox tomorrow...
  18. I also live in California
  19. Yeah. You cannot get into the nursing program unless you've been admitted to the university first. But it's still possible to not be admitted to the nursing program, despite being admitted to the university.
  20. I know. I was just thinking aloud. Fingers crossed, everyone! :)
  21. I thought the accelerated people found out back in February.
  22. I would assume so. I've never heard of a university mailing acceptances and rejections in different cycles. But then again, I'm not exactly an expert. hahaha. We'll just have to wait and see! :)
  23. Yeah.....I'm confused.
  24. RBauer8814: My cumulative gpa is 2.68, but that's because I screwed up at the beginning of college when I thought I wanted to do pre-med. My more recent grades have been much higher. I've done well in all of my pre-reqs, but I have A&P 2 and Micro still in progress. My cumulative HESI score was 93% when I took it in November. For extra stuff, I spent a year in Japan in high school on a scholarship, and I currently work with exchange students in the area for the same organization. I also volunteer at the Shriners hospital in Sacramento because I was a patient there once upon a time. I'm not sure to what degree extra stuff is taken into consideration, but I'm hoping my HESI score and pre-req grades make up for my bad academic record from freshman year . I'll just have to wait and see... I'm not gonna expect to get anything in the mail until the end of this week. I live out in California and it took me 3 days to get my admission packet from TCU. Let me know when you guys hear something! Good luck!!!!!! :)
  25. I just called the nursing department and spoke with Angela. She said she was not familiar with any such e-mail going out, so it probably came from the university and not the nursing department. Is that right PAMQ?
