  1. I'm becoming a nurse in part because of my mother I always tried to support her both emotionally and physically She becomes very sick once she has something It lasts for a very long time and she takes her illness very hard not just physically but emotionally too She needs someone to be beside her She needs attention.. she cries And it's nothing but negative thoughts that I'm trying to talk her out of I want to know how to take care of her better And she has older parents that she wants to live with once I'll move out and I know that she will need my help with them too
  2. The disease does waste a persons life I just meant that it would be wrong to say that about a person with it
  3. I think it's kind of wrong to refer to this as a "waste" It just is
  4. Well thank you :) It was just that I thought that maybe you need to have certain "attitude" to fit in because I thought maybe it's a very demanding job in terms of your relationships with patients and doctors But I guess I have all of this answered Thank you
  5. Thank you guys for the replies The intern I think just had a difficult day at the hospital and he was trying to help because he was joking about not being able to remember your own name at the end of the day at work But I was wondering why didn't I have the personality to be a nurse in his opinion.. I guess it depends on what is it that you believe that you want to do.. but I thought maybe you'll have advice as to how patients and doctors treat nurses in general so that I have just a clearer picture "Unless you're tough and have thick skin" because I think that's what he meant Anyway thank you. And the reason why I wanted to start a practical program is just because it's shorter.. I'm waiting to finish and be able to move out I'll probably continue to registered nursing once I'll be able to work somewhere
  6. I have a bit of a different question for you I'm volunteering right now at a Hospital Gift Shop and upgrading my courses in night school to start a college program (hopefully) for practical nursing One of the hospital interns who talks to me at the shop once in a while said "can I give you advice? Don't work at the hospital" I said that I wanted to go into nursing with time.. So he said that with "my personality" I could be only in delivery So my question for you is- what's a "nurse" personality?
