Hi all, I'm interested in supplementing my income by working as an RN for an insurance company on my days off. I know often nurses attend people's homes to review medical information and take blood / urine samples. I'm not sure if these jobs are available through agencies or insurance companies directly. I tried Googling this information but didn't find very much for Canadian insurance companies. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Don't let one nurse ruin this job for you. There are nice and nasty nurses everywhere. Furthermore, why did the other nurses feel the need to tell you what this other nurse said - it sounds like they were trying to stir the pot. You could always confront the nurse that allegedly said things about you behind your back or you could put it behind you and move on. Good luck.

hey Jen, I decided on a career change, so quit my job a little over a year ago. I'm 40, married w. 2 kids. My husband is v. supportive and he picks up a lot of the slack. I'm now in 2nd year BSN w. two more years to go. It's challenging and takes a lot of juggling but it is doable. Do my kids suffer? Maybe a little because I can't participate in family game night or family movie night; however, they see how hard I work at school. I give them lots of attention following mid-terms and finals. I hope you do get to transfer some of those credits - really push for it. I had already taken 3 required courses and completed all of my electives before entering the program and there is still a lot of school work. Good luck.

Seriously OP? Do you remember when you were a student and wanted to fit in? Could you be any more negative? I feel sorry for any students that end up trying to learn from you.
