  1. Hello I'm Jennifer and I attend Cal State Long Beach and Im a freshman in pre-nursing. i really want to become a nurse. My school right now... it's impossible to get into the nursing program. It is so impacted that your GPA has to be "at least" a 3.2 GPA but in reality with so many people wanting to become a nurse the GPA is roughly around 3.8-4.0... And like all nursing programs i believe.. you only get two chances to apply. Im terrified. So i was planning on transferring to a different school where it's not as impacted with people but i don't know where to begin. Is it a good idea? Should i go out of state? or should i got to a private school and even then... wouldnt i have to take a test to get into the school? and how difficult is it? i heard you get only 3 tries to get in and if you fail youre done after that. and if you get into the private nursing school... if you fail one class i heard you get kicked out... is that true? Im also a Army ROTC cadet. I really want to become a nurse in the army so at the same time if i transfer i would have to find a school that has the program. Im not contracted and im not sure if it's a right path for me... for right now i like how the program is going but my main goal is to get into the nursing program. and if i get into the program i would most definitely do army because my main goal in the army is to become a nurse and nothing else. What should i do? Thank you So much. sorry for so many questions. im just really scared for my future. and also... is there some career that is some what similar to nursing? I dont have a back-up plan if i don't get accepted into the program.
