Corporate Recruitor, Thanks for the information about vendors! I noticed that you have a requirement of people should have experience in clinical informatics-a lot of other hiring companies have the same requirement. Do you ever hire people that have only experience working in a hospital as a floor nurse? I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and also an associate degree in nursing, but no clinical informatics job experience. Do you have any suggestions on how one would get the clinical informatics experience? Sailor

I am interested in getting involved in clinical nursing informatics. Is there anyone on site that has worked for a vendor that can give me an idea what it is like-I know a lot of travel is involved, but do you stay in hotels all week, and come home on the weekend? Does the company pay for hotels and travel expenses? I was wondering how different people got started. Also, I was wondering how that experience compares with working at a hospital. Thanks!
