AdventHealth University Nurse Anesthesia Program 2020
I just started the program. From what I recall, NoelleP said that they don’t work with you unless you “look” like them, and that they will not help you when you go to them. I’m in the program now and the faculty is very diverse. Some barely speak English. They all seem helpful and forthright. I think OP said something about one student that was on the verge of failing and they kind of helped him leave the program. I can’t remember exactly. The weather here is beautiful. They have beaches and natural springs an hour or less drive away. They got Disney, Universal, Seaworld, etc. when they open back up. Oh; and it’s the largest Level 1 Trauma hospital in the nation with around 8 clinical sites that are part of the system. Like I said...I just started. It wasn’t my first choice school, but it’s definitely growing on me. I think I have a great opportunity here.

Ugh...Why am I not Good enough? I need something to ease this indigestion, and the only med to cure my upset tummy is one little phone call.

I was so nervous. Had all my pressors down, knew mode of action inside and out, reviewed Kreb’s cycle, ready for anything...blew a simple cardiac output question. It felt like I did a book report on Great Gatsby and couldn’t remember which letter comes after “C”.

Good. Super nice 5 person panel. No scenario questions. Just experience personality and gameplan questions.

I little inspiration before interviewing.

MTSA DNP Program 2020
I’m definitely studying them, but not freaking out. I think if you know mode of action and how they are eliminated you should be fine. Anything more is just icing on the cake. I think everyone will generally get the clinical questions right, or at least good enough to make it negligible. I believe most places eliminate based upon personality questions. I’d rather spend 3 years with someone I can see myself having a good professional relationship with rather than some alpha who thinks they know everything.

That means roughly 1:2 chance of getting in if you get an interview...way better odds than all the other programs I looked into so far. I’m getting excited!

I do, he finished in November. been a CRNA for about 6 months now at my hospital. I spoke with him a few times when he would work in icu as a nurse during breaks, and he had a lot of good things to say about the school after he finished

Talked to them today. They said they were going to review apps, but got a lot over weekend and wanted more time to compile the newbies. They will review tomorrow morning and send interview invites sometime in the afternoon. Not sure if they will email or snail mail.- UAB 2020 CRNA Applicants
I emailed asking about ways to be more competitive. I got a generic response that started with, “Upon reviewing your application...” 1: consider getting CCRN (which I have). 2: gain more leadership experience (ok...). 3: consider retaking the GRE for a higher score (did that as well). Been talking to them fairly consistently about going there since 2014 and was really let down. It was obvious they didn’t put forth the effort to respond appropriately. I hope they were just too busy to go back and answer all the mail from disheartened prospects like myself that didn’t get the invite. Maybe it was a reference letter that was bad and they didn’t want to tell me. Ugh... Here’s my stats again: GPA- 3.59, Nursing GPA- 3.33, Science GPA- 4.0; GRE: V- 152, Q- 159, W- 3.5; CCRN, ACLS, PALS, BLS Luckily, I applied a few other places. I will get in! I hope you got everything submitted.- Augusta University 2020 CRNA Applicants
Finished the interview a couple hours ago. Quiz was a little icu, a little physiology, a little vent stuff. Nothing to concern yourself about regardless of how well you think you’ll do. They said they are trialing it. Most people do about the same. Matters very little in the grand scheme of things. Seriously, don’t bother. Interview is very heavily weighted. Personality type questions. Don’t sweat it though. Everyone is really nice, but they probably won’t show it in the actual interview. Very straightforward, and they give very little in the way of feedback, verbal or nonverbal. It was like a poker game for me. Just be yourself, and deal with their decision at the end of the month. I have absolutely no idea how my interview went. I thought I did well, but could go either way. I heard it described like that by several others. - MTSA 2020
