Wait list
Thats the same feeling I have. I dont even have a date or time frame to be accepted into the nursing program, let alone a graduation date. There are not a lot of private schools here in austin texas. I am even contemplating relocating, but that would mean uprooting my family. I just hate the situation Im in especially since this is my second degree and I just want to do what I need to do, and get a job ASAP. I wish you well in your schooling and all, and Thanks for replying.

Wait list
Hello Friends, I currently attend Austin Community College, taking my prereq's for the Lvn program. Unfortunately I was informed that there is a wait list up until fall 2013 for the Lvn program, and the RN wait list is so long, the next available slot might be in two years. I would like to know if there any students out there that had to wait this long. Please Please let me know that there are people going through the same situation, and if not any advice....... Thanks yall.

CNA salary/sitter
I know right? But it'll do while I'm in school. Are you in school? Thanks for your responses.

CNA salary/sitter
Thanks for your responses! To answer your question azcna, i need a job and also it will help me gain experience. I dont believe all patients are the same. I was told that if I get a CNA lisence I would be able to get sitter jobs also. Thanks tomc5555, you gave me a broad outlook on what to expect. So what does the pay look like? Is it worth it? I used to be a social worker, so dealing with different/special people is not new to me. The experience will help me in nursing school hopefully.

Financial Aid
Hello all, Im a little depressed today. I was just informed that the Lvn Program Im about to attend in fall 2012 might not be financed fully. The advisor informed me that due to the new law that came into effect 07/2011, I might not qualify for 100% aid. I was shocked! especially since I was asking for a stafford loan. I was informed that since I stated that I had a bachelors degree( even though it was from another country) I do not qualify for money, or I do if I win the appeal. She stated that if I decided to go for a masters or bachelors in nursing, I would not have any issues. I informed her that since my bachelors was in Business Administration, I wanted to take baby steps at the most cost effective way, she actually went ahead to pull up schools that offered Bsn degrees. She stated that If I wanted to go ahead with the LVN program, I would have to provide documentation as to why I should get funds for a degree that is lower than my first degree (pay cut) So thats my dilemma, I have to come up with the cost of the pre reqs, thank God there are only three, but Im scared that the 42 credits that financial aid is supposed to fund might be a problem since when the time comes for me to start the program, Ill have to come up with the funds first and then if the appeals committee approve my petition thay might decide to reimburse me. Has this happened to anyone out there. By the way Im attending Austin community college, Texas. Please advise me on what I should do. I registered for my classes for january, and its too late to start looking for classes in other schools for the spring semester. I thought I was so close to my dream until today.

Austin Community College LVN
Hello Friends, I finally saw an advisor at the ACC nursing program, and I can say I'm ready to be a nursing student. Im going the LVN route because I was never a science student. I have a bachelors degree in Business Administration and Im going back to school after 12 years. I need all the advice I can get please this will be helpful. Im 37, and I have 3 children from ages 5-11. I want this degree with all my heart and Im determined to bridge over until I attain a BSN. All tips and advice will be appreciated. I will be attending the ACC round Rock campus for my 3 prereqs. I need study ideas, lectureres to choose and not to. How is the LVN program? If I get my prereqs done by summer will I stand the chance of getting in for the fall? By the way Im going to register for the spring 2011 semester. How did my fellow moms cope with the home, children, hubby and school. My hubby is a nurse so hopefully Ill get some help with homework. No kind of advice is useless and I love to read so dont hold back! Thanks in advance and I wish us all well in our various pursuits in life. By the way, my email is [email protected] case we cant post some stuff on this page. God bless!!!!!
