Hello, I am in a similar situation. I have a felony drug conviction from 15 years ago and am trying to get into a nursing program. The problem I am having is all the schools have no problem with my past but they all require an approval from the BON for them to accept me into the school. However, no one anywhere seems to have information on how to get this approval. The website offers zero information and all the phone numbers listed just give prompts for more numbers to call. All of which are either disconnected or hang up on you, sometimes after a very long hold time. I have yet to speak to a person. I have even tried sending an e-mail question and left messages on the few numbers that do work. I have recieved no reply and I have been trying for more than 9 months now. I know my offense is waiverable in most states do to the length of time and no other history. Does anyone know how to get this done in Chicago? I am at my wits end.
