residents also have to have a diagnosis that supports the catheter. incontinence is not one of them. maybe she was straight cath'd and had a large amount of residual resulting in a dx of urinary retention that supported the cath. catheters are monitored closely in ltc. i am going to "assume" that bladder tone training has not been successful and she continues to require the cath to void?

that is exactly what we are trying to do! work smarter....not harder. i am still looking tho lol

i just ordered some catalogs from briggs and will call them tomorrow. i am still looking tho! thanks for your help! lol my don said he didnt want to "reinvent the wheel" and has me on this wild goose chase. i am thinking maybe i should just come up with one and patent it! i could post it...we could all work on it....lol

hi guys! i have been in ltc for 8 years. i am a 3-11 rn supervisor. the don and i started at the same time in our facility 3 months ago. he is awesome!!! he has an acute care background with no ltc experience, which i think may actually help rather than hinder him. what he wants is to find some kind of "flowsheet", like is used in acute care, to do daily charting. does anyone use any type of flowsheet charting in their ltc facility? i have searched online all day and havent found much of anything helpful. any suggestions?
