So my journey trying to get into nursing school started after graduating high school in 2007. I applied to a couple schools and got denied. I ended up getting into a one year undeclared major instead. The next year I applied to a couple more schools and had the same answers and ended up taking a year off. The following year I was denied yet again and I decided to attend a two year liberal arts school to improve my chances. I am graduating from that this coming spring. I recently applied to a university and I was praying to get into their two year nursing program. This was going to be my last time applying because I was starting to loose hope. I had a 3.6 GPA, took a+p one and two, many courses that the nursing program required, and I have been a CNA for four years. I thought to myself, if they didn't think that was good then what is? So a few days ago my dreams came true, "You have been accepted"!!! Lets just say I am the happiest woman ever. To anyone who is close to giving up, DON'T GIVE UP!! Even though it is hard getting in, it takes patience. I would suggest taking strong courses like anatomy and micro. Keep your GPA up and prove to them you have what it takes. I am glad to be part of this community!
