I am 29 years old, married with 2 kids (5 and 1), went to EMT school YEARS ago (also passed the NREMT written and practical exam), got pregnant not long after and never used my EMT. I went into retail after my son was born and have been doing that for the last 5 years. I knew all along I wanted more for myself and wanted a career in the medical field. We are finally in a place financially as a family that I can stop working full time and go into nursing school. My problem is, I haven't been in school (aside from the 1 semester of EMT training) since 1999. I have NO college credits, so no GPA to take into consideration for acceptance. I can't even REMEMBER what my ACT math score was, I know my composite score was a 27, but I want to say my math score was like 15. If I take College Algebra this spring, and A&P I and II in the summer, is there any chance at all that I will get accepted? I know it's a hugely competitive program and can be VERY difficult to get into, I just wanted some outside opinions. Most of the info I've found has been based on people who are already enrolled in college, already have their LPN or bachelors degrees in something else, or are fresh out of high school. Any info anyone can give me would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!
