  1. I would add something about care of the trauma pt, include trauma criteria for alphas/bravos. Also about RSI including drugs used and the different types of airways pt's come in with when they are placed by ems.
  2. thanks for the reply! the interview went well, and i even got a call back about 2 hours after to let me know they will be calling my manager early next week seeing as i am "a serious candidate", so hopefully that means an offer. i am nervous about leaving the hospital setting and embarking on a new career path, but this position seems like it is 50% nurse and 50% teacher which im excited about. are you still working in the juvenile detention center? why did you leave if you are not still there? these hours are m-fri 12-8 no weekends no holidays and the benefits are great, i have 2 young children and i think those hours would be much better than 3 12h shifts including nights which i do now. sorry if i rambled, but id love some input including the good and bad side of working juv. jail. thanks!
  3. I am an RN with 2 yrs experience in an extremely busy level 3 trauma ED in a rough area along with my current position in an icu, interview on friday for a ft rn in a juv. detention center "the jail side" as the AD called it. Im super excited because I want to get out of the hospital setting, and I think that my ed experience will be a plus. Anyone out there with some advice, do I stand a chance or what are they looking for???? thanks in advance!
