  1. Acute care settings are fluid with a lot of throughput (admits/discharges/movement). Long term care and nursing home settings have less traffic.
  2. I believe A & P 2 is a prereq or coreq to get into mirco.
  3. It was a piece of paper that came in the minila envelope they give u at orientation. It basically said that i was never convicted of a crime or had any criminal charges pending...and i had to sign it in front of a notary. maybe u didnt have to do it....maybe its a new thing. im in my first semester....so this is a recent requirement.
  4. It actually is the TEAS. They make you take the TEAS and a critical thinking standardized test before your first day of class but after youve been accepted. It doesn't really matter what you score on them because youve already been accepted. The results are used by the teachers to understand where the admitted class stands.
  5. The Commuter: Thank you for your response VKF3: I'm in the night program. I know we don't go to clinicals for the first bunch of weeks. Do we report to the HEC on those days? At what time? I'm a little confused. Btw holyyyy book list! Good luck with your day program. So exciting!
  6. I will be starting SPC's nursing program in January. I have attended orientation and got my schedule. There is a bunch of stuff that needs to be completed before school starts: getting books, uniform, background screening, drug test, immunization records, notarized affidavate saying your not a criminal, standardized tests to e taken.....however if you are already an SPC student who has established residency with the school when you first started...there is no need to do it again.
  7. I will be entering SPC's nursing program this January. I am so Excited. I got my schedule, and it says my clinicals would be held at Health South Hospital in Largo. Has anyone attended SPC's nursing program and done clinicals at Health South? What's it like?
  8. I was told I was alt. #25. However, I went to the administration office while I was waiting to be interviewed by Northside Hospital and they told me that they made a mistake. They forgot to calculate my micro class while processing my information. So, I was never supposed to be an alternate, I was supposed to be accepted during general admissions. I was too happy to be mad at all.
  9. Im in!!!! January 2011 Program....here I come. I'm so excited and I just wanna blurt it out!!!!!!!
  10. Yes. I'm an alternate. This sucks. If we don't get in Jan, we have to wait until next August. Im so frustrated. My GPA for nursing prereqs is a 3.8 with all of my support courses finished.
  11. Was anyone put on the alternate list for Jan. 2011 SPC? Do we have wait list numbers. Congrats to all that were accepted.
