  1. Thanks. yep. used both the comprehensive review and Q&A version. I also used Kaplan strategies 2010-11. kaplan was the best of it all.
  2. PVT means pearson vue trick. it helps u check if u passed or failed the NCLEX in as fast as a couple hrs after taking the test. theres a thread on this site that shows all the steps, and its free.
  3. dont give up cos u can do it!! u got thru nursing school and u will get thru NCLEX 2. having done the exam several times i think the strategy u r using is not working and needs to be changed. I will suggest u try may be a different set of review books. Also dont just try to memorize stuff, rather know the rationales behind the stuff u know. e.g know what happens when a lab value falls below or above the normal range and know what nursing action to take to handle the situation that arises. In my opinion the NCLEX does not test knowledge which I know u already have, but how u apply it to client needs and basic critical thinking skills. I used Saunders, REA's flashcards, Lippincott, Kaplan strategies 2010-11 n others. In my opinion Kaplan offered the best help by teaching me step by step how to critically analyse questions, reword n reread each question twice to be sure I am interpreting it correctly, eliminate wrong choices n narrow it down to d best choice. problem is its only got 145 questions, so I used the strategies learnt to answer tons of questions from other review books. on the real NCLEX i only saw may be 2 questions that looked like something i've seen b4, so dont just memorize, its no use, rather learn test answering strategies, that may be just all u need. so go for it , u can do it. goodluck and God blees u!!!
  4. which exam r u taking, NCLEX-PN or RN ? just took my Nclex-PN 2 days ago n I Passed. I put mine off 2 for forever. I never felt ready either. I changed my exam date 3 times. Until I finally put my foot down and said enough! my exam shut off at 85. it felt like a bomb hit me cos most of the studying I did for months did not seem to help cos most of the questions were either tricky or unfamiliar. had tons of SATA thought I was screwed and failed, but d good news is I PASSED. bottom line- study as though that was the only thing that mattered for the few days u have left, do tons and tons of questions- u need to know how to answer questions by eliminating the wrong choices and narrow it down to yr best guess even if its not a familiar topic. don't try to memorize the questions u practice , in my opinion its no use. I did close to 6000 practice questions- no kidding. after doing my exam I can say I saw only 2 that looked like someting I've seen b4. so practice just to know how to answer questions and understand the rationales. finally, pray hard to God and have a good sleep the night b4 yr exam. U CAN DO IT, YES U CAN. Goodluck and God bless u !!! :)
  5. thanks u were right! I PASSED!!!!
  6. thanks y'all! the PVT really works! I got the good pop up and when I eventually got my results I PASSED!!!!!!!!!! yeh!!!!!!!!!! check me out! new nurse on board! so relieved.:)
  7. Hi everyone on allnurses.com, u rock! the posts have been really helpful Just took my Nclex-pn yesterday after putting it of for several months and I have been studying real hard all those months. i never felt ready, so I finally took the bold step yesterday and boy was it the hardest test of my entire life. it shut off at 85 and i could only boast of only answering 5 correctly. I am completely freaking out now, almost like going thru panic attacks .I can't afford to fail an exam that would change my life forever. I have been reading comments on this blog all day and finally decided to try the PVT, it gave me the good pop up. I only hope it works for me too. and my school graduation ceremony is this saturday I hope I will be able to celebrate that too. still waiting as the hours grind by.
  8. I did mine in Columbus,OH same day as yours, it shut off at 85 and I wished I got more cos I felt I did not do well, I am freaking out and a nevous wreck and just like u kept putting off trying d pearson trick. eventually I did .I got d good pop up and I feel much better now. though I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for the real result. so go 4 it, try d trick it doesnt hurt, might even make u feel better. the number of question does not really matter. people have gone all d way to 205 and still passed.
