  1. Hi. Im in a similar situation as yours. I'm in the middle of preparing all the requirements my lawyer's asking for. So have you started with the application? How is it going so far?
  2. For me it was a combination of hard work and lots of prayer. I enrolled at Kaplan for 2 months and tried to read and learn about as many topics as i can, slowly but with consistency. I tried to understand the topic more than memorize it. Did practice questionnaires, and reviewed the rationales. On my third month, and also a month before i sit for the exam, i just practiced by answering kaplan q trainer while applying test taking strategies they taught at kaplan. I did all the memorization of lab. values, tables and medications on the last week. Finally as I sat for the exam, I quietly prayed and then gave it my best. And thank God I passed. I do hope you find a strategy that would work for you. Don't be in a hurry. You don't want to take it again for the 7th time. Give time for it and focus. Don't give up. Pray for it. In time, you'll make it too. All the best. (:

  4. hi everyone. i just want to hear your thoughts about this. does enrolling for an MSN degree in the Philippines be helpful in qualifying for an H1B? again, im an RN from the Philippines with no hosp experience, passed the NCLEX exam last year and currently reviewing for my IELTS to get a VSC. i do have another degree which is BS in Chemistry with a year of experience in a lab. Im supposed to be sponsored this year by my employer which is a home healthcare for a Quality Assurance nurse position. apparently, i was not qualified for an h1b according to my lawyer since BSN graduates from the Philippines are considered AD holder when in the US. So he advised me to enroll in a graduate school here to increase my chances of getting approved for an H1b and told me that i would then be sponsored for a managerial or supervisory position in the same homehealth. I think its a great advice but it would take me again max of 2 years to get that. So any thoughts or suggestions? do you guys think that my lawyer's advice is the best thing to do? or should i consult another immigration lawyer for a second opinion? can i be qualified for a managerial position by having a master's degree with no experience at all? thank you in advance! =)
  5. hi there! i think we're on a similar situation only that i have no experience yet as an RN in the phils but I do have another degree which i finished before taking up nursing. im still preparing to take my ielts to get a visa screen. so how's it going now? are you pursuing with your orig plan? im having a difficulty too. right now, my employer, who owns a home health and another healthcare facility wants me to go to the US on my tourist visa, then file for the sponsorship while im there to make the process faster as they said.. i was hoping they could still file my petition and wait for the results while im here in the phils. cause i think that would be much safer. i know it wont do me any good once i go to the US as a tourist then apply for a working visa and dont get approved. really, this has kept me online everyday looking for options, possible answers..... any suggestions? thanks in advance. : )
  6. @byblos747: thanks for the reply. :) that would help keep my hopes up. fyi, i have no experience yet as an RN since i tried to finish all the exams first. i told my employer about it and they said that it won't be a problem, and if it would, then theyd just sponsor me utilizing my first course as a chemist with qualifications as an RN. but how would i know which one will work? thats a tough one. btw, i do have a tourist visa and the reason im looking for an immigration lawyer is id like to know just in case i get denied with an h1B, would they be cancelling my tourist visa too? i mean, i still want to go visit the US, but then if my application would put it at risk then id have to widen my options. ... so you said u were sponsored by a homehealth. thats great! how did u do it? :) thanks a lot for your time and God bless! =)
  7. hi there everyone. just want to share my situation and ask for any opinion that you may have. i took up nursing as my second degree in the philippines, locally licensed and passed the nclex-rn recently. my first course was chemistry and have a year of work experience as an analyst since i immediately went on to studying nursing. i do have an employer who's willing to sponsor me as a quality assurance nurse in a homehealth facility. my question is, do you think i could qualify for an H1B visa? im still looking for an immigration lawyer that can assist me with this. so any suggestion would be appreciated. thank you guys and God bless! =)
