Hey there everyone!!! If some one knows do we RNs who passed SEC and did Suplementray education need 250 hours supervised work expiriance befor we could get our Provisory Licens????? Its written like this in Guide for IEN from CRNBC that at first you need 250 supervised hours and then you could get your Provisory Licens!!! Does someone has an expiriance??? Regards Stelz

Hi, thanks fro your soon answer. I did volunteering this year at some hospital in vancouver for 2 weeks aktually it was transit unit intermediate care for elderly peopel, but there were also young peopel, i can tell you one its totaly different then in germany( anyway in long care facility) BUT belive me what thay call stress we say in germany easy shift :) thay dont know waht does it mean not to have a break. When i told them that usually i have no break thay watched to me if i were crasy :) You have many care aids and LPN so you do not wash peopel no transfer from bed to chair etc., you have to comunicate a lots with doctor and next of kin and with patients if thay not satisfiy with care aids. BUt the medication administration is not like in DE, vorget it what we do in DE, each medication for each patient and you are watching if he really took it. And you have to order for each patient his med by pharmacie, so not like hie you just write down on the paper how many Novalgin you need. you write down the pt name ..... and med and how much and the doc have to sign if its narkotiks. RN was weared in dress when i sow it i thought at first she is sekretary, but she was RN unbeliveble. So beeing RN in Canada is different then in Germany. If you want i can give you some good adress where you can try your luck and get more then 1 day voluntering, but only over e mail. How i can contact you i can#t find your e mail ???? Hi Mona77, I am really impressed with your very good english, it's so cool, and that you could read 1 english book/ week, great !! But more then it i am really glad for you that you have to do only 1 workshop for 4 days and only on-line cours Nursing in CA. Its so great you are really very close to your goal and soon you could work as RN and enjoy your life in beautiful BC :) its just great!!! I got my scheudel for SEC alredy( the same like yours 2 days med/surg) . I have alredy all books what you mentioned, except pharmacology, but i have to state its very difficult to motivate myself to learn, maybe becaus my english is not that good and i have to translate many words, so i can't just consentrate on contant and learn. But i will try. I going to do some cours calls "Review for Nursing in Canada" at OMNI College in Richmond, befor doing the SEC, becaus my english is not that good and i don't want risk to be sent to Re entry, becaus i wouldn't understand the question :) I know this college becaus i did there CELBAN prep 4 weeks and passed, also i was able to learned thair program and set on some lessons, i think it would be very helpfull. Anyway i am glad for you, and wish you at first nice out dore trip in Youkon and then great time during 4 days workshop!!!!! Let me know when you will start work in BC and where!!!! Hi MONA77 I am very apriciate that you answered in ditails, its very halpfull but sitll frightning :) How long have you prepeared your self???? I got my copies of my docs from CRNBC and have to translate them, at the moment like 300-400euros, i called my regulatory body to 50th time and asked if thay have the same but in english, and gues what, THAY HAVE but they not sure if its official translation so they gonna check it and say me in 1 week,may be i could save another 200 euros :) And jus one more question just for clarification. You had to do: General Medical Surgical Nursing Written Diagnostic Exams Clinical Judgment Assessment A modified Triple Jump Assessment A modified Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) IEN Candidate Self-Assessment ALL tests??? sucks!!!!! How many scenarios you have had on each test Clinical judgment?? Tripel Jump?? What have you had on OSCE i.m i,v. s.c tubing???? TUBING !!!!!(Intubation?) Damn i have never done!!! Have you took Vital signs apical puls etc??? Chest assesment??? I dont know where i should start to learn i went throu VitalSigns but really dip and noticed many differences between germany and canada, now going to go to physical examination, it seems to be that i have to by pharmacology book. damn it would be expansiv. I do not want to be naughty, but may be you can give me a copy of all this exampels what thay have had sent to you I have downloaded some of them from Mntro Royal College, but thay seems to be different from BC. But just one question you havent done anything like maternal/new born, Pediatric??? But i still hope that you done all this tings well and don't need courses or only on-line courses. let me know when you get your results of SEC from CRNBC And how do you know that CRNBC overloaded??? :) do you have insider???:) Are you still working in germany or you live alredy in BC, your english is very very good, how comes??? I really wish you that your SEC was good and you do not need to do any courses and if, then only on line :) But i still would like to know some few more ditails. May be you wouldn't minde to tell me more??? :) What exactly you have had to do?? 1.written diagnostic exam?? 2.Clinical judjment Asses. 3.Tripel Jump Asses. 4.Objectiv Structur Clinical Exam. 5.IEN Self-Assesment Just let me know which from all this abow you had to do And may be you can remeber how long does it took till CRNBC answered you that you can go to SEC. Thay sent me a letter with Time Scheudel, but its sounds like 3-4 monthes till thay send me to SEC, long time, my employer wouldnt wait so long i will lose my job offer And one more question, i did my nurse Exam in Hessen 2008 and my Nursing school has no timetabels with exactly hours for each subject(exemp.: like wound and dressings 15h a.s.o) from my study so thay sent me to Regirungs presidium and thay there just sent general hours for "Themenbereich" so nothing exactly. Hi Mona77, thank you very much for your response. Its very halpfull. Anfortunatly the peopel whom i know who did SEC have education from India and China, I am not sure but i think thay have Bachelor degree 4 years and i have german "Staatsexamen" and only 3 years . I just wanted to ask you if you alredy got from SEC this package with Information which outsanding topics you have to review or may be you alredy have done your SEC and what thay asked you. I know for sure, that it depends on your primary education as RN what they going to ask you, that is why i thought may be you know alredy. Cuz i think we have lack, in our german education, like pediatrics I know that some peopel have had only rollplay, lik put smb. on I.V and write a report. Hi Mona77, I have the same problem and have to do SEC in the next future, i did my RN in germany too. Have you resived from SEC assesment what you have to learn ??? what you have to do on SEC. I am so afraid i know few peopel thay did not well on SEC and now thay have to do re entry 1 year and further 20000$. If it will happen to me i can forget to immigrat to CA. Would be nice if you would answer. Thank you in advans. by
