Has Anyone Interviewed and Hired at Amerigroup?
Hey! I know this thread is old but I have an upcoming interview with them. 2 different positions for 2 different departments. Are Wellpoint, Anthem, and Amerigroup the same company? It can get a little confusing.

I don't think they would advertise the position so early. It was very recent and I don't plan on checking either lol. I may not have been for personal reasons but they made it seem that way by saying " not the right cultural fit". The least they could do was explain to me what I did wrong! I guess they had to say something to get me out of there like someone suggested on here. I also asked my supervisor if I can get a letter of recommendation for my work ethic. I did not get a response from her but HR instead. They simply stated " All reference request must go through HR. Also please note it company policy to verify dates if employment, position held and salary only". Well if anything it is lesson learned. I will not accept a "new position" again.

Thank you so much for your responses! At least I have some type of clarity based on your opinions. I was the only nurse on the team. There were other case managers with degrees in social work , psychology, mental health, etc. Since I was the person with more medical experience, they were going to give me clients with higher medical needs. This was a new position for Care management at this company. They hired me because I already had Care management experience as a nurse. The Supervisors did not know what my job would be like. I was told it would develop over time and we would work together. I would of never thought it would end so suddenly like this.

Yes! The HR person was there and she gave me a package. I am eligible for unemployment and they are giving me severance pay. When i asked the HR person what "Not culturally fit" actually means. She could not give an answer. She just told me she doesn't know what happened but good luck to me. She gave me bags to pack up and i left. As far as the e-mails I only had two describing my job description and what to expect . Originally they did not know what what my job would be like but wanted to work together to see how it turns out. Nothing about being "culturally fit" was there.

Hello All, I do not know if this is the right forum but i would like to share my story and maybe you can help me. I have been nurse for 4 years. I recently got an awesome job as a Care manager for 2 months. I was recently terminated. The supervisor meet with me in her office and said" I think your work ethic is excellent but I feel you are not the right cultural fit". My termination was effective immediately. I was then escorted to my desk and they gave me bags to pack up my things in front of everyone. So embarrassing. What is cultural fit?!?! When i asked her she could not explain. She told me to look at the memo she gave me two months ago and it stated nothing but the job description. I have never missed any deadlines or had complaints. I got along with all the co-workers. Can someone please help me out. I feel awful.

Center of Allied Health and Nursing Education
Hi. When i went to the school in Hackensack the cost was about 22,000.They do have finanical aid and grants. I do not know if they increased the tuition but i wouldn't be surprised because everything is up. In my opinion The Center For Allied has changed a lot and i wouldn't say for the better. I don't want to discourage you about the school but go there and visit for yourself and trust your instinct. If that's the school for you, you will know! If the school doesn't work out for you there are many other schools in the New Jersey area. There is Hohokus Hackensack which iv'e heard is very good, Universal Training Institute, Merit Tech and some others.

For me there's no traffic going into NJ in the morning and I take the Cross Bronx or the Deegan. Most of the people are coming into the city for work but just leave a little earlier to be on the safe side. Coming home there will definitely be traffic since it will be around 4.

I dont think Tidi was saying dont go to lpn school. She just didn't word it correctly in her first post. She explains in her other post but what she was really trying to say is if you plan on becoming an RN dont go to LPN school But go straight through RN school without stopping if you can. I do understand her point of view because the people who do become lpn's and don't go back to school after that. Unfortuatenly many people can not go the RN route and i'm one of them. As i stated before the waiting list are ridiculous and i do not have time to waste. As soon as i finish the lpn program i will be going straight through Exclesior. No if , ands, or buts. I've also seen in many other threads that hospitals and nursing homes are only hiring people with experience, so there might be some truth to it. Thank god i can get my CNA while i am in the program because working as an CNA will give some experience before i get my license and hopefully i will get hired. There is always some good and bad in this profession but regardless of anything you have to be determined and ambitious in and out of nursing school. Dont let anyone or anything stop you. Sometimes you have to Push yourself! Thank you all for making us Aware

Merit Technical Institute* NJ
Hey. I wouldn't call it exactly a scam but they definitly are trying to milk you for your money. Think about it this way.....why start a CNA program and wait 6 months to start an lpn program when you can take a test for another lpn and get right into the program??? save your money and get accepted into a lpn and go straight through. You don't need to waste time. I know many schools in the NY/NJ area that has lpn classes starting in October. You will just have to take an entrance exam like any other. message me if your interested.

@ tidi i would have loved to go to a traditional RN program but in NY there are not a ton of nursing schools and mostly all of them have a waiting list for 2 years. There are about 50 seats for 600 people to apply, esp. in community colleges. I feel like i did my research before making any decisions and i do not have time to waste . As soon as i get my license I'm going straight to a rn program on campus or online. hopefully while in in the program the economy will pick up and i could work as a lpn. @induetime7...i thought the trenton location just opened??? or is it ewing?? @
