  1. Hi. I was happy to see your post, and all the replies. I am a 6 year medic working in Utah and after 5 years of working pt for a smaller fire dept as a paramedic, and a sudden unfortunate layoff, I have decided that I want to get my RN and start doing that PT. My plan is to work PT as a RN and have my RN as a safety net if I get injured etc, then do it full time after retirement. Due to my work schedule and family responsibilities I too have started looking into Excelsior. I would love to exchange info and ideas with you if your willing. I am intimidated about going back to school, scared to spend a ton of money and not pass tests, scared no one will hire a nurse from an online school, etc.
  2. Have you thought about Excelsior College, online? I am considering it.
  3. I am preparing to enter Excelsior College and begin the program to get my ASN. I am currently working for a full time fire department as a paramedic and have been on the job for 6 years. The threads on this site have been extremely informative concerning Excelsior College and the Paramedic bridge program. I wanted to start this thread to get more up to date info from recent graduates from Excelsior so I can get a understanding of what I am about to do. Questions Is THE COLLEGE NETWORK a waste of time? ...or do they help make the process easier? I think my learning style would benefit from being able to access information online and use it to study as opposed to books. Has anyone use TCN to go through Excelsior? Having gone through EC, what advice can you give me, regardless of your background, although I would love to hear from other paramedics!
