hey are we working at the same place? I feel the same way at my job. I say Nurse visit. We need to utilize nurse visits to provide patient education, have a walk in schedule with the RN triaging... what else?

Update: I did get the job! I am the Charge Nurse of a family health clinic. I'm enjoying every minute and learning so much!

I've been preparing how to answer " whats your weakness" and " tell me about a time...." and I realize I really ought to pick up the ol pharm book that might have gathered a light layer off dust since its NCLEX study days are through! Really, thank you for all the wonderful info. I would be overjoyed to be able to work in this position and will continuing preparing. I'll let everyone know how it goes!

Hello, New grad RN here with an interview coming up next week at a family health clinic that focuses on low income clients. I am so excited about this opportunity and I am preparing in every manner I can think of to do my best on the interview. I would love any and all input about qualities that make a great RN in this role. Also, I'm pretty sure this clinic employs MA's as well, considering that, what may be my responsibilities as an RN? And last, this interview will incllude 2 MD's among other staff. What do MD's look for specifically in hiring an RN. I am sooo excited, any and all info will be greatly appreciated! This is my DREAM JOB, I hope it goes well!

Hello fellow Colorado RN's! I am a New Grad in the Denver Area who is looking for a wonderful first RN position (like so many others:)). I am a Bilingual Spanish speaker and I hoping to find a Nursing positions that allows me to use my Spanish skills. I am open to all types of nursing. Any suggestions? JP- I would love to work with Adolescents with behavioral and Substance abuse issues! I think I may know of the position you are referring to. I too am a new grad, any tips for applying/ interviewing for the Psych position you spoke of? I would really appreciate any more info :-) thanks!

I'll graduate in a couple days, so maybe I'm not in an experienced position, but I think coming up with a practiced positive response to 'what you been up to in the last year' will benefit you. Specifically, I would not tell any hiring managers that you did not pass the HESI or NCLEX first go!!! You DID pass both of those and you are an RN and thats what they need to know! The past is the gone, no worries, take this moment forward and prepare yourself for the next opportunity coming your way. Remember you don't have to tell them everything, with a practiced response it will go better. ex: "what have you been doing this past year?" "I wanted to be the best prepared I could to pass my NCLEX, It's taken a little longer than I would have liked, but I've studied nursing knowledge thouroughly, I feel competent on the material and now I am an RN!*smile* Even though some time has past since I have been bedside, My desire to be a nurse has only grown, I feel prepared to take the next step and join yoiur team!" Well, I wrote once before, no responses yet, maybe I need to get the hang of writing better threads! So new grad opportunities are limited big time here ( surprise surprise) I would love to work with substance abuse clients, but in what setting do RN's really work with these clients? In medical detox? Methadone clinics? Some sort of community outreach? Also.... What can I do to really impress an inpatient psych facility hiring manager as a new grad? books to read? certifications? REALLY want to start in psych as a new grad and want to be as prepared as i can not to let the few job opportunities slip by
