  1. Hi-I am interested in pursuing a career in Nursing Informatics and have 20+ years as a military medic. I have experience in the following (Med/Sug, Emergency Room, ICU, CCU, Labor & Delivery/Nursery, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Immunizations, Ambulatory Surgery & Staff Development). I have a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Masters in Information Systems. I am also an adjunct faculty member for a University where I teach Microsoft Office to Undergraduate students. I recently applied for a Clinical Analyst position and was told that I was not selected due to the fact that I wasn't an RN. I feel that I have just as much if not more experience than some RN's and should be competitive. What is your opinion? Also, is there a good textbook I should get that would give me more knowledge of Nursing Informatics? I appreciate your opinion!
