Hi everyone :) I have some questions that are really important to me, and some of you on this board could probably be a huge help. I've done a lot of research, but I've had a hard time finding the information that I need. To sum it up...I'm 21 yrs old & on track to graduate with my BSN in 2 years. The two most important things in my life - family and career - clash. My heart is set on military nursing, but my family is strongly against it. Not to make my family sound harsh or evil, they're great. We've always been very close. They support me in everything that I do, just not this. About a year ago I finally gave up on military nursing. I decided that I can't go through with it without their support. As you can see, my family is very important to me. But after a year of trying to ignore it, I'm realizing that the desire is still there and just as strong as before. It's the only thing that I really want to do right now in my life. Anyways...its something that I'm looking into again. I still have some time to decide on what I want in my life. For anyone that can help me... Do you think that joining the Reserves would allow me to do what my heart's set on + keep my family semi-happy? OR what about working as a civilian nurse in a military hospital? Does anyone have any advice or input about that? I would love any advice that you have!
