  1. Hello I am interested in the ITT nursing program, please give me any information that you can. How are clinical s? How many clareplans do you have to write up? do you have lots of presentations? Any advice and heads up is so appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hello Everyone, I got placed finally!!!!!!!! Into the weekend program at Glendale Community AZ. Class starts July 22, 2011. I am more nervous than excited. If their is anyone who is starting this July 2011 in the weekend program please PM. It would be nice to talk to someone who will also be starting the program and who is just as nervous as I am. I have so many questions and if their are any students who are currently in the program who can answer my questions I would appreciate it so much. Questions: I got placed on March 1, how long after you got placed before you received your orientation packet? When should I start the CPR class? orientation is July 13. Should I buy my uniforms now or wait until I get the orientation Packet? How soon should I start on my vaccinations, I need all of them! My last question: Is it true that the weekend program is easier to handle than say the traditional full time? I know its alot of questions, my nerves are getting the better of me LOL Thanks again!!!!!!!
  3. Hello i'mdown4that, Yes I am taking it at GCC in Arizona. I have also heard that this is a very valuable class to take before the nursing program. I am also done with all my pre reqs and co reqs, so I figured this class would be very beneficial while I wait. Good luck to you too, I am sure this class will not be fun! LOL Let me know what you think of your instructor tonight?
  4. Hello everyone, I start my Patho class this Friday at GCC. Has anyone taken this class at GCC? If so, is their an instructor that you would recommend? I have heard this class is an absolute nightmare, and yes I am very afraid! I did a google search on my instructor and the reviews on her were not good. Not to many instructors that teach Patho, so I am not sure what to do? Any advice would be so appreciated.
  5. Thank you so much for the feedback. This advice will really help. It is always good to hear advice from students who are going through the nursing program and provide good insight!!!! Thanks
  6. Hello AZSamantha thank you so much for replying, i really appreciate the advice. I tried to PM you, but the system said I could not until I have meet 15 replies. I have heard so many bad stories about the careplans, thank you for easing some of my anxiety. Do you think that the weekend program is less stressful than the traditional full time program at GCC? Those presentations sure scare me. I have never done a presentation in college. I am now 31 years old last one was when I was 14 in High School and I know its silly, but I am terrified!!!!! Thanks for the advice on NCLEX books. Do you recommend I start looking at those now? or once I start the program? Advisor told me I should be starting in January. I know in nursing, their is so much to remember, but do the instructors really teach you well, I don't want to hurt anyone LOL. Maybe I am just being paranoid, but I have had some anxiety since I talked to the advisor this past Monday and they told me to be ready!
  7. Hello I am hoping to start the GCC weekend program Jan 2011. Can anyone please give me any advice? I am getting so nervous and questioning if I can really handle this! Is their anything that I should buy ahead of time? Are their any books that I should be buying ahead of time and study. I have heard nightmare stories about the care-plans, writing is definitely my weakness. How difficult is the weekend program compared to BIO 201 and 202? Are their alot of oral presentations that nursing students do? Any advice is appreciated.
  8. Hello I am currently on the waitlist for the GCC weekend program. My stamp time is June/09. I am hoping that I will get placed Jan 2011. I wanted to find out if anyone can give me some advice on the weekend program. I have heard some horror stories and I am starting to get really nervous and question myself. I understand that it is going to be difficult, but I have no idea what to expect. I got A's in all my science classes, but found them to be very difficult. The A's in Bio 201,202,205 did not come easy to me. Since I have taken those classes I have forgotten most of what I have learned, and I am afraid this will hurt me in the nursing program. My weakness is in writing and I have heard that each careplan takes over 10hrs. Are they really difficult? do the instructors at GCC show you exactly how to do one? or do you fend for yourself? Also, I know this sounds so silly, but I am terrified to do oral presentations. Is it true that students in the nursing program do several presentations? Any advice is appreciated and will help ease my anxiety.
