What made you consider the AirForce? Did your recruiter give you info on what rank you will be entering as? I am working out and trying to increase my endurance because I've never been a runner. I am healthy and try exercise regularly, but the run is what worries me. My daughter is in the airforce. She just entered Nov 09, she loves it now. She just finished her training for medic/EMT. Florida, in a very busy pediatric office, this is including productivity bonuses which can vary $0-20,000 or higher every three months.

I am not from the area you are asking about, but I think 120,000 is possible but difficult if you are working in a pediatric office. I am a pediatric NP and made 136,000 last year and 90,000 the previous year all depends on productivity bonuses. Ask about productivity contracts. It's possible to get close to your amount.

Thank you for your reply. I am so excited. As for wanting to do it for a long time, life, family and kids consumed my drived to persue the military path. Now they are doing their thing. My daughter who is 21 joined the airforce in Nov 09 and I am so proud of her, she loves it! She is a medic. I just realized seeing her so fullfilled and happy, that I pushed this dream back so that I could be mom, wife, and what ever other role that needed to be filled. Now my husband is very supportive and I am ready. I will post my steps as I move forward with this. Thank you.

I am a Pediatric NP for 10yrs now plus 15yrs PICU/Peds/NICU nursing experience. I have been considering AirForce nursing for a long time. The problem is I am 45yr old. Does anyone know the challenges of obtaining a age wavier. What are the chances of making this dream a reality? Are there any success stories out there that can give me some hope. Thank you,
