  1. rocky63- congrats! maybe we'll start together I'll try to update as I get bumped up the list. Are you still working on your co-req's? runner25-are you going to Pima or NAU? I was under the impression that Pima didn't have to take the HESI but that there was a 'surprise' exam the day of the orientation that was meant to kinda see where you are with the subjects. Nonetheless, it is encouraging to hear you only waited 3 semesters to get in:yeah:
  2. Thanks for the reply! I have plans to do 2 to 3 co-req classes per semester hoping to drag that part out a little so I'm not left sitting around waiting to get into nursing school. Can I ask when you started the program?
  3. Hi, I was able to apply for the nursing program a couple weeks ago and got the letter stating my start date was in 2014, yikes! I know that you never wait that long but I was wondering if anyone got in recently-how long you waited? I heard this past spring the wait was about 2 semesters...i hope this is true! Thanks!
  4. thanks nomadmamma! i was wondering if i could volunteer somewhere and also have that count as healthcare experience. i was thinking about going for my cna since i still have microbiology, nutrition, writing and developmental psy left to do. i didn't want to go too far off track tho . i'm able to get on pima's waiting list now but recently found out a lot of the new grad programs won't even consider you unless you have your bsn. kinda threw a wrench in my plans dang it do you mind if i asked where you got your cna cert? i was reading there are a few nursing homes that offer on the job training to get certified and possibly pay a small wage while you are in training. thanks again!
  5. hi everyone, i've been attending pima cc and was going to go into their nursing program but decided to switch gears and try to get into nau here in tucson to get my bsn. i've been looking at the prereq's and think i only have a few left to do that i will try to take at pima since it's cheaper. did someone on here say that the nutrition class won't transfer? another thing is i have no experience in working in the human healthcare field (was a vet tech for 7 yrs) and it looks like that's actually a requirement for nau?? any info on how you guys got to the point of submitting your apps to the college would be great, thank you! donna
