:balloons: :balloons: Can you tell I am happy!!!!!!!!! Took my boards on Thursday and had my results Sat. morning. Never did I ever think that I would have them so fast. I had 75 hard questions, and then is was all over. Thanks again for all those who answered my questions!!

I do agree with you. Part that has been so hard is that I have been working as a GN and I have been off of orientation now for 3 weeks. That has been hard trying to learn a new job, study and take care of a family. The studying for the NCLEX is very stressful for me because I want to pass and I feel as though my family has paid the price for it. So that little bit of extra free time is what I want.:)

This is the part I hate the most. Too many drugs to remember. Those that I have talked to said that they had hardly any pharm on their test. Doesn't help any still have to study it. What pharm content have most others seen. This is what some have told me: Insulin - drawing it up, peak times Dig - almost everyone told me they had a dig question Herbs - don't like this subject, hope those are part of the 15, but everyone has told me they got atleast one of these. Lith - thereputic range Questions on chemo - I am not sure if NCLEX puts that with pharm Lasic And those are about it. Anymore that anyone has??? Thanks

my test is this Thursday, Aug 4th and I am sick to death over it. I am studing non stop. The part I hate is the not knowing what to expect. I have talked to many now that have just taken it and I get such different responses to what they think. One girl that hardly could pass school said it was the easiet test she ever took and passed. Another straight A student told me that it was the worst test she ever took and had 75 questions and cried everyday until she got her results. And she passed, but her questions were real hard. So it is so interesting to see how people respond to it. I just want it to end.... I am so sick of studying, and I want my life back.

I feel the same way too. I have ranged from 84% to 64% depending on the questions or material they ask. I hope that I do better on the NCLEX.

What did the questions on the NCLEX remind you of???? What study program did they seem like??? Kaplan or Saunders?? Or does the NCLEX have there own style??? DId you you use the stragedy that Kaplan teaches??? The reason I ask is because that stragedy about the Kaplan tree only applies to their questions. When I use it other times like on Saunders it does not work the same. I don't want to miss questions on the NCLEX because I am following something that is not right. I keep remembering what someone told me, "Kaplan is a business so they make their questions apply to what they want you to learn". Sorry I guess I asked more than just 2 questions. Hello I am using a cd that was lent to my by my friend, we exchanged cd's. I think I am using an old version of it, because mine does not have priorty or deligation questions on it. It says that it is 2ed. Does anyone have the 3rd and think that it matters on which edition to use? Cause I will go get the newest if it is better. Thanks

:uhoh21: Help, I am studying with Kaplan (took class and doing qbank on line), Saunders comprehensive cd, what else should I use? The saunders cd is nice cause you can pick what system to study and I have learned a lot from that. I have heard a lot of people talk about Mosby's and ncsbn. What is the best??? On Kaplan I get anywhere between 60% and 85% on the tests. What most is like the NCLEX test??? I have about 15 days left to study inbetween working so what should I spend these next days going over that will be the best use of my time???? Thanks

Thanks, should I just go through my drug book and read about certain drugs?? Should I go over the ones that I have done in my last 2 semesters? Do you think I should buy some nclex books also? Sorry so many questions. Thanks again:)

I did try every hospital in the area but they have started the summer programs. Too late for me. But I do an internship or what they call nurse shadowing my last six week (I think 180 hours) of my senior year. You acutally do everything and learn a ton of stuff. I just thought that I should do something before my senior year to be more prepared for it. Thanks

I will be starting my final two semesters in the fall. During this summer I am taking a nursing class that is not clinical just classroom and micobio. A lot of other students are doing a nursing intern position but I was not able to get in one. One reason is the hospital that I signed up for told me that they are cutting back for money reasons so they got rid of the nursing inter program and at that point all the hospitals were filled, also I have children and it was going to be real hard for me to do this. With everyone's nursing experience what do you think could help me prepare for my senior year? Thanks:p

I am a nursing student that has one more year to go. During this summer a lot of other students are working as nursing interns. I signed up for one but recently found out that they had to cancel the program at the hospital b/c of money problems. Now it is too late for me to get in on another one. I have called the hospitals in the area and they are now full. But one hospital wants me to come in as an aid to work. Is this a good tool for learning to become an RN? They have been very persistent with me and I am a little hesitent b/c a lot of other people have said that this will not help me for my senior year. One of my clincial instructors said that she thought just studying and reading at home would be great for starting my senior year. I am a mom of 4 and need to spend my time wisely this summer. I have 2 classes also to take this summer. I am very concerned that I will be behind the other students when clinicals start in the Fall. I am still not sure where to go with this. From any of your experiences what do you think is best for me to do this summer in regards to keeping up with the others?? btw, I have med surg, geri, peds, ob clinicals done so far. Thanks

Yes, my clincal experience has been med surg at 2 different hospitals, geriatrics for 8 weeks, peds and right now I am in labor and delivery. If I didn't do anything this summer would I be hurting myself??? Thanks for the responses. :)
