Applied or accepted to Drexel ACE BSN Spring 2012?
hey all! i've been accepted for the spring 2012 as well! my scenario was a little different, as i originally applied for the fall '11, but was denied, as they wanted to see more science courses completed. i've since completed all of my science pre-reqs and am completing ethics this summer. i called the admissions office to discuss re-applying and was told how to proceed, and fortunately, it all worked out! congrats to all that have been accepted and good luck to those still waiting to hear! i look forward to starting this journey with all of you!! :)

drexel will also accept a "3.0 in last 60 credits completed; this can include prerequisite courses taken after you received your other bachelor's degree." this is great for people that got off to a rocky start but finished their degree strongly!

Drexel University ACE Program Fall 2011 Start
I am completing my pre-reqs at a community college that fortunately has a dual admissions program with Drexel, which in my opinion means that Drexel knows the caliber of the classes offered by this particular institution. I have both an associates and a bachelors, having completed programs at both types of schools. I believe that whether you attend classes at a community college or a four year school, it all comes down to the professor. I've had some amazing professors at community college that were extremely difficult and some terrible ones at the universities I've attended that shouldn't have tenure at all. I think where a four year school experience is enhanced is that often times, you are taught by tenured professors that have done extensive research in their fields, and community colleges are stacked with adjuncts who have the qualifications to teach the course but not necessarily the same research background to draw from. At any rate, I hope we all get in as we all seem eager and are working hard to realize our dreams!

Drexel University ACE Program Fall 2011 Start
Hey Schick672! At the info session, the time frame given is on par with what has been posted, 4-6 weeks. I believe that the admissions commitee meets every 4 weeks to make decisions. I'm not sure if you are local to Philadelphia, but I found the session to be informative. Fran is actually the one that ensures that your application is complete and all of your transcripts have been received. From there, she passes it on to the admissions commitee. Hope this helps :)

Drexel University ACE Program Fall 2011 Start
Hello all, I just wanted to wish everyone a quick good luck and hope that we are all classmates come next Fall! I applied in July, after the info session I attended. I have just requested that my last transcript be sent yesterday from the community college where I am completing my pre-reqs, having just finished Nutrition and Developmental Psych. This Fall, I am taking A&P I along with Micro, then A&P II and Ethics in the Spring at which time, all of my pre-reqs will be satisfied. After working in my current position for over 6 years, making excellent money, I realized that I was miserable and needed to think seriously about changing careers. I always thought of becoming a nurse, but the time was never right for me. After much thought and reflection, I realized that it was time to stop thinking about it and to make it happen, which brings me to today. When I hear from Drexel, I'll let you all know! Again, good luck to everyone!
