  1. Hi All, I recently interviewed for a great job. It's exactly what I wanted to do for awhile, to work in a skin and laser center. Throughout my nursing career, I have only worked in hospital settings and wanted a less stressful change. Became interested in skin & aesthetic services but didn't really move forward with that. So now this opportunity comes my way, the doctor is willing to train. Sounds great right?? Except it is approx 1 1/2- 2 hour drive depending on traffic from where I live. It will start off as part-time, 2 days a week and progress to full-time at some point. The question is should I say "yes", go forward and see what happens. Or say "no" because of the commute? So torn, can anyone give me thoughts, especially those that commute long distances for jobs. Thanks!!
  2. Hi all, just got accepted to grad school and starting this fall for FNP. But feeling discouraged and having cold feet. Talked to several NPs, NP has less flexibilities, more responsibilities, less money and work more hours. I want to do derm, no interests in working family or primary practice, but afraid not much derm opportunities once I graduate. Right now, I make good money, work in one of the best hospital in the nation, have very little debt. But, will accrue $40,000 plus with grad school, is it worth it to go back? Pros/cons? Thanks.
  3. Are you not that satisfied with being a chiro? If you are, but just looking for a challenge, why not do a fellowship to gain more knowledge, challenging scope of practice. Have you heard of the Gray institute, Gary Gray? Less $$ then going for your NP or PA, you're still be helping people move & feel better but a much better understanding of functional movement/human body. NP or PA is great, but a side step for you, with more responsibilities, less flexibility and possibly less money overall depending on where you work. Good luck!!
