  1. Thank you all for listening to me I contacted Stony Brook and was told they would accept my degree from excelsior:) Just don't understand why the director of the place where i got my LPN would say this to me. Also i'm in NY and Stony Brook is in NY maybe that is the differences.. anyway thank you all
  2. Hello, I've just sent in my first payment to start taking classes from Excelsior to get my ADN. When I called the school where I got my LPN, I was told by the director that Colleges are not recognizing ADN from Excelsior college because they do not have a Clinical Component. Is this true, I did call Excelsior and was told that California will no longer accept students from Excelsior to sit for the Boards. But those that are already enrolled will be allowed but no new students. Has anyone had any problems in the past or present with going on to get your BSN from a different colleg? Say Pace University or Stony Brook? Thank you for any information you can give me. I don't want to be halfway through with Excelsior and find out it will be useless to me.. Thanks:)
  3. I knew someone who went to St. Joe's she took some of her classes at JCC. I believe you have to get all of your other classes out of the way and do the Nursing core there. She seemed to enjoy it. Good Luck. Also St. Elizabeth in Utica also have a weekend program.
  4. Tiona, I'm not sure meds can safely be passed with so many clients. I worked in LTC for 3 months new grad and well I hated it. I found it difficult to pass meds for 29 clients and get all the paperwork done and treatments. I left work every night after 12A. I was on the 3-11 shift. Like you I wanted acute care not LTC. It seems like in NY all the LPNs are in LTC. All I can say is do the best you can and if you feel you are unable to provide quality care talk to your nurse manager. At least you are not a float like I was can't remember how many times I got clients mixed up. Thank god I didn't make any major med errors. Good Luck to you and remember to ask for help. :) Ps thank you bunches Brian for fixing the problem with my account:)
