PCTs, Can I see your resume?
I'm a CNA in a subacute rehab unit that's attached to a LTC facility, I've been there for about 6 months. I'm trying to get to a hospital as PCT to broaden my scope and also because I'd like to work 12s to make my school schedule work better for me. I'm having trouble getting any recruiters to contact me, I constantly get rejection emails telling me they chose someone with more experience. Would any of you be so kind to share your resume me with me? I feel like I've highlighted all my skills in a way that would appeal to a hospital, but maybe I'm wrong. I would appreciate any help! :)

LTC CNA to Hospital PCT?
I'm wondering how hard it has been for some of you to get on with a hospital? I've been a CNA since Decemember, however, I started out as a nursing staff coordinator for an entire LTC facility. I also did all of the ancillary tasks like ordering and stocking central supply, med rooms, carts, and all of the billing. I went back to the floor in January when I was told they could only pay me CNA wage to do all that work . Anyway, I have been on the floor of a rehab unit for a few months now and it's very similar to a hospital with the constant admits/discharges, lights, pace, ect. I have my time management down and I want to move on to a hospital so I can have more exposure to different patients but also exposure to different careers in healthcare. Could anyone share experience with me? How hard was it for you to get on with a hospital and what qualities do you feel helped you the most? how long are PCTs orientated? What's the biggest difference? Is the patient ratio any better than it is in LTC?

Staffing coordinator CNA?
A position was recently offered to me to be the staffing coordinator and central supply tech for our facility. I adore being a CNA but this job sounds really interesting to me. Has anyone done this before or could anyone offer advice to me? I'm just going back and forth because I *really* adore being a full time CNA but with this job I will only be on call to cover a shift if I can't get another cna to come in. opinions?

Universal Health Services School of Vocational Training in Dallas?
I know this is an older post, but did any of you figure out a payment option with this school? This is an absolutely beautiful program as far as class times and clinicals and only 20 min from my house (compared to 45 min to Concorde and 1hr to El Centro one way). But how in the world do they expect us to pay almost 20k without offering student loans or a more flexible payment option? Any chance of getting an outside Sallie mae loan without a co-signer? What a pickle
