I have been applying to numerous jobs for about a month now. No phone call. No interview. I have a year of nursing experience. I absolutely don't know what to do. I dont have a bad record. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. Do you think I should apply in nurse employment agencies? Can anyone tell me how this works? I've heard some horror stories about them, but what choice do I have? Employment gaps wont look good in my resume at all. Can anyone recommend a good employment agency here at Ohio (Columbus area)? I also plan on applying as a patient support assistant or medical assistant. However, I'm a RN-BSN. Is this a bad idea? I've been told that most RNs who get hired in have worked a patient support assistants. Not sure if it's true or not. I don't want to seem desperate, but I do need to start somewhere.

Which state doesn't accept .5 credits? Medscape has lots of 1+ CEU. Just a matter of finding them. :)

I know this is an old post, but the BON in Ohio in my opinion is more "reachable" and actually responds to my emails. I got my license by exam from a different state and the BON there never replied to my emails at all. My experience with the Ohio BON, within 2 weeks of submitting complete requirements, i got a temporary license and after a week got my license certificate in the mail. I don't think it's bad at all.

Hi! I graduated in 2007 with a BSN degree. Since then, the jobs I've had has not been in nursing. I was manager at my family's business and since late 2009, I've been working on starting my own business company. Now my resume looks very well if I was to apply to a business related job, but I'm thinking of working as a nurse in a nearby hospital. Should I include my previous jobs in my resume or should I make one that looks like a new grad's resume? I had a nurse job back then but it was a voluntary one. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
