  1. Right now we're doing the lymph nodes of the head and neck and I can't seem to feel any of them. And no, I can't feel any of mine either.
  2. I'm a sophomore in my nursing program and I'm currently taking Physical Assessment, my first real nursing course. I have a question regarding the palpation of the lymph nodes: are they supposed to be palpable even when a person isn't sick or doesn't even have an infection? My physical assessment lab teacher keeps saying you won't feel anything unless they are sick so how I am supposed to know what I'm feeling for? When we're practicing in lab, I feel sort of weird feeling around willy-nilly for something I'm "not supposed to feel". But then I read my textbook and it says you should be able to feel them regardless. Help? Thank you! :)
  3. hey everyone! just wanted to let you know that i started school about a month ago and i'm really enjoying it! even though it's challenging, i love that i'm learning so much and it's really interesting stuff! thanks again! =)
  4. I just got a letter from my school saying I have to take this test and I am freaking out! How much does the result of this test determine whether or not I get into the program?
  5. Thanks! I didn't really think it mattered all that much but I was curious. I intended on e-mailing the professor but of course my A & P professor is the only one who doesn't have his e-mail up on the website, lol.
  6. I have the 8th edition of an A & P textbook that I got from a friend. The required textbook for the A & P class I'll be taking at the end of the month is the 9th edition. It's the same author and everything, just two different editions. Does it really matter? Is there that much of a difference between the two? I'm looking to save money any way I can. Thanks in advance. :)
  7. Thank you, happy2learn and guiltysins! =)
  8. Is there any age requirement to volunteer in a nursery? I'm 17, soon to be 18, and I think I'd really enjoy doing that.
  9. I guess I'm just nervous because of what I've heard of my school's particular program. It's a great one but difficult. Thanks for your reply! =)
  10. Hi everyone! :) I'm almost 18 and I'll be attending Mount Saint Mary College in New York at the end of the month for pre-nursing. I'm really nervous but also extremely excited. I've heard so many good (and bad) things about nursing students' classes, professors, and over-all schooling experiences. I've wanted to become a nurse, specifically NICU or labor and delivery, for as long as I can remember. I really want this. I know college will be more challenging than high school and I'm ready for it but I'm just concerned about how well I'll be able to keep up with the workload. I'm motivated and not at all opposed to working hard but I've heard and read about people flunking out because of how intense and stressful it is. I know every person is different in terms of intelligence and determination, but for an average to above average high school student, do I have a shot in surviving nursing schoool? :uhoh21: And any and all advice is welcome regarding preparing for school or anything else! Thanks so much!
